This is a charming rural hotel. Very quiet, very rural, friendly, and good value. Close to the area's fine natural attractions. And if you like camping, their lake-side camping can't be beat in Guatemala (though don't expect much in the way of facilities).

Up and deep in the Guatemalan highlands, Chaculá is a wonderful family or couple experience. If you love outdoors and adventures, this is the place to establish your base of operations. Delicious food, clean bed and hot bath at the end of every exciting day. Nice people in charge. It has an archaeological site, a lagoon, milk cows, waterfall, hiking...

This little posada is truly special - as is the village of Chaculá. I come here once a year for work and it is a treat that I look forward to year round. This is a village of refugee-returnees in the northern corner of Huehuetenango, and is one of the most peaceful wonderful places I've ever been! The Posada is...

We had heard about this finca, owned by former refugees of the Guatemalan civil war, but we did not expect the beautiful surroundings, the exceptional service, and the cultural experience it provided for our whole family. We arrived at a time when there was no electricity (the owners provided us with a solar-panel powered battery so we could have light...

It is more than just a place to visit, it is a life experience! The beauty of the place, the amazing tours you can make and incredible places to visit are just one part, but the breathtaking history of its people and the community it what really makes it such a special place! There is no electricity nor internet but...

I’ve never came back from a place with the feeling of receiving more than I gave and I’ve never rated a place with 5 stars while thinking this isn’t enough… until now! As its name indicates this is a rural inn, so don’t expect a hairdryer, fast Wi-Fi and cable TV… But don’t freak out, you’ll almost forget you once...

I was very surprised and impressed by this area of the country, absolutely beautiful. I can't believe more people havent heard of this place! The Posada Rural is rustic but very clean and comfortable. I was a bit nervous arriving knowing there was no electricity, but it wasnt a problem at all. They have gas lanterns, and gas for hot...

My, it takes patience to get to Finca Chacula, although there will be much beautiful scenery on the way. But it is beautiful, the stars at night are amazing, the atmosphere of the posada rural something out of another century. There are big fireplaces, simple but charming rooms, a big wooden table where simple but wholesome food will be served....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In a farmland of 3500 hectares of cool and moderate subtropical rainforest, the 210 families of Chaculá create a unique place. In the one century old house of the property, they open three cosy rooms. You will be able to visit with them the farm, its waterfall and its Mayan ruins. In the surroundings, we recommend you to make the trek to the spectacular Yolnajab Lake or the Hole Cimarrón among others fascinating destinations. ... more   less
