This is a beautiful old hotel. The pool and spa were great, the property was beautiful outside. My daughter had a lot of fun on the playground. Breakfast was pretty good, and the staff serving it were very friendly. We stayed in a suite in the old house, and we were not very happy with the room. The carpet was... More

The Waldhotel has a lot going for it: a lovely position surrounded by the Black Forest and numerous hiking/walking trails, decent sized rooms with all facilities and a lovely, decent-sized indoor pool and wellness (sauna, steam bath etc) area. It is also welcoming to dogs. Why then the modest rating? The hotel gives the impression of having seen better days:... More

Diear Viator Coloniae, thank you very much for your review. We are very sorry to hear that you didn't feel very comfortable with us. We kindly explain why we charge a "Servicepauschale": Here in Germany we need to split overnight stay and breakfast as we have two different taxes (overnight stay is at 7%, all other services are charged with... Stayed for two nights here. While we liked the breakfast (lots of different options, typical continental breakfast) and the location is great (at the border of the forest, start hiking behind the hotel) there are some things that are not quite right. First off, the rooms. I've booked a Junior Suite, but received a smaller room than in most hotel... More

Stayed there with friends for a get together weekend and went hiking in the Black Forest followed by some relaxation and dinners. The food was great as is the location, the wine list, the spa/pool/gym area. We'll definitely come back.

Love the dining experience in this gem just past the Black Forest. Rooms are typical of the region, but the food, oh, so superb! Every little detail on my plate had a distinct savory taste. Such delightful experience that sticks to your memory and keeps you wanting to come back for some more....

So I crashed hunts business trip and he was staying in this little place in Salzburg. Well it was wine season and the air was crisp but not cold. Hotel showers great. Facilities wonderful and I even walked into the village about 4/5km away. Great for a bit of head space as there is no reception at the hotel for... More

The hotel is situated deep in the woods on a dead end street. Really peacefull and great hiking possibilities. The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel could use some updates, some spaces are a bit Spartan. Dinner and breakfast were very good, especially dinner was a surprise. 'Gutbügerliche Küche' with a touch of international cuisine: a real treat.

The place is a jewel, the location just perfect and quiet, right in the middle of the forest and 3 kms away from the nearest village. Food at the restaurant is wonderful for German standard (remember you are close from France) and they change the menu daily, the only problem is that the kitchen closes too early (the latest you... The Waldhotel is a pleasant hotel with character tucked away down a long road into the peace of the Forest. We stayed in September 2013 for a week as part of a classic car rally with participants from several European countries, we came from the UK. The service was very good. Our food was enjoyable, big buffet breakfasts with wide... More
