We arrived at about 5pm for a one night stay. Receptionist was friendly and efficient and within minutes we had been shown to our room, This was compact but had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. We took the opportunity to go into the bar and sit in front of a roaring fire range to have a pre-dinner...

We stayed in October last year and can't wait to go back. This was a different style of mini break to that which we are used to (no mod-cons), but it is so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing in the middle of nowhere. I have rarely seen a place with such stunningly beautiful surroundings. The staff (and owners) are fantastic too....

We (couple and small dog) visited in October for two nights with a voucher deal, large enough car park, as soon as we walked in first impressions were very good, lovely and warm, old fashioned typical of a country inn, we were dealt with by a person on the reception efficiently who explained about breakfast etc, then directed us to...

We went with a party of friends, and I was a little nervous having read other reviews. But no! we had a fabulous time. Warm comfy room, not large but loads of drawers, spotless bathroom, big towels, view of the rising sun from our bed was amazing. We didn't use the earplugs we'd taken. Tv was a bit small. Bar...

Visited on 17/10/16. We did question as to whether to we wanted to eat at The Fat Lamb as, on entry, thought we'd stepped back in time due to the décor. However we asked to view the menu and were impressed by it's variety. The food and service are excellent; a total contrast to the behind the times décor of...

I'll start with the positives about the Fat Lamb, which was the food. We ate here for dinner on both nights of our stay; and of course for breakfast too. All the meals were very well cooked and tasty too, with good quality ingredients; our only gripe about the meals was, we thought that the portion sizes rather small, considering...

Arrived on the Friday evening to a place that on first glances needed a renovation. Shown to our room up the dirty stairs carpet to find a room back in time decorated with decor from the 1980's. After unpacking we were then greeted with the nice sounds next door of a noisy tv and a dog yapping every time a...

Four of us had dinner at The Fat Lamb recently. All the food was very good. Lots of local produce prepared to a high standard. The slow cooked brisket was a particular hit. Really good cheese for desert. Well worth a visit.

Very welcoming & pleasant staff. Had one of the vegetarian options, baked sweet potato, and made a great choice. Well cooked & very tasty, especially the bean casserole that was served with it. It as also served with a small side salad. Will be visiting here when I'm next in the area.
