We spent 4 nights here recently and it is a gem if you want to rest and unwind. Our room was peaceful and quiet with an open fire and a claw foot bath which was wonderful after a full day of walking. The hotel in the small community of Ravenstonedale makes you feel like you have stepped into the local pub...

Had a very nice Sunday lunch, we were sat in the restaurant instead of the bar area. The whole pub looks lovely and look forward to visiting again. A family member paid so I have no idea on value, but good was very tasty!

The Black Swan was RAMMED today - every seat taken. And yet the staff were so accommodating (our party grew from six to nine at the eleventh hour) - nothing was too much trouble and the food quality was uncompromisingly excellent and consistent. Lots of families, some with children and/or dogs and a lovely, lovely atmosphere.

Lovely friendly atmosphere & personal service. The food was delicious and served promptly and with good humour. Nice choice of wines. The dining room is elegant, comfortable and nicely spaced. The whole place was refurbished recently so everywhere is smart and stylish.

Four friends met up for their annual get together. We chose the Black Swan having been impressed by the website, and also by the recommendations of other friends who had visited previously We had beautiful rooms with really comfy beds. It is a lovely old building. There was a real fire in the lounge which we enjoyed as we had...

From the minute we walked through the door, we were greeted with warmth and friendly hospitality. We ate in the pub and the food was superb quality and nice little touch with a chocolate with the coffee. The standard double room was wonderful - comfortable bed, nice range of drinks and biscuits . Best sleep ever and very quiet ....

We stayed a few days at the Black Swan and had a lovely stay. We got a free upgrade, the owners thought would be more comfortable in the bigger room, since we were staying more than one day. The room was lovely and spacious. We liked the interior design of the restaurant and lounge a lot. And had a few...

We stayed here last October and were so impressed that we came this March bringing some friends. We all had a really good visit and this time took advantage of the winter mid week break which gave us a room upgrade. Our food was lovely and the menu great as last time but nothing was cast in stone so any...

Stay a couple of nights to visit Kirkby Stephens (remembering our coast to coast walk) and to hike the local area. Booked the king room which was super nice. The room is attached to the pub and was clean and much larger than most pub accommodations. Breakfast was also very good with well cooked none greasy full breakfast. Didn't eat...
