Powered by AI
Kilmurry Lodge Hotel garners praise for its exceptional cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere, with spotless rooms and a lively music scene enhancing guest experiences. Travelers commend the comfortable and occasionally spacious accommodations, though some suggest the decor could use modernization.
While the hotel's amenities, including cozy beds and thoughtful touches, are well-regarded, opinions on value are mixed; some guests appreciate the quality received for the price, yet others find restaurant costs steep. Above all, the professionalism and warmth of the staff receive high marks for elevating guest stays.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel is family run and a very homely and warm place. We had to cancel at short notice, no problem, we could reschedule. They were great to provide single rooms at reasonable cost also whereas most hotels price for double occupancy with no flexibility. My room was spacious, spotless, warm and inviting; a lovely bathroom with full bath ensuite ensured a relaxing stay. It is a very short distance to a great shopping centre, and very accessible to the motorway, to UL and to Limerick City centre.
Our deal included dinner and breakfast; dinner was in the bar, but on a proper table and comfortable chairs and great atmosphere. The menu was extensive, and the deal included a decent steak with no surcharge. Breakfast buffet included fresh fruit, yogurt, cheeses, and all the Irish breakfast items as well as lovely scones and croissants, pan au chocolate, etc.
The car park is very spacious, and the hotel was spotlessly clean. We felt there was lots of air circulating in the rooms we were in, and it felt safe from a health perspective.
Overall it was an excellent choice - quality for the price was really good. We will definitely stay again when in Limerick.

I stayed on the third night after the hotel reopened in the Covid19 health emergency. From arrival at the entrance it was clear much thought and training had been given to ensure guests are welcomed yet instantly feel safe. Registration at reception has pens for signature; lift and sign from the container marked ‘new pens’ and then place pen in container marked ‘used pens’. Simple but effective. In addition to the room, I used the bar, restaurant and breakfast services. Arrangements for social distancing were excellent yet discreet; great atmosphere in the restaurant/ bar areas. The staff were clear about how to work in this new environment. Their confidence helped everyone. Congratulations to the management and staff of the Kilmurry; they have decided that the health standards required by Covid19 emergency will not impinge on the quality of service they offer to guests.

Dear Guest, Sincerely thank you for such kind and positive feedback from your stay with us last week. We have had to implement many changes in how we operate in recent weeks and we are so delighted that these changes did not impact the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that we are known for. Everyone was overjoyed with your feedback and we very much so look forward to welcoming you back again soon. All the best, Kilmurry Lodge Hotel Team

We stayed in the self catering apartments while quarantining for two weeks before seeing family for Christmas. Such an amazing stay. The apartments are huge and really comfortable. Lovely bathrooms and showers. All towels and extra bed linen provided, even tea towels. Dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine and even hoover provided so can be really self sufficient. The hotel staff were so helpful during our stay and gave use extra desks to work on. Couldn't recommend the place enough for a lovely comfortable self catering stay.

Hi Maeve, It was such a pleasure having you all stay with us recently in The Residence Apartments. We are so glad that we could provide such a service to allow you to visit your family at Christmas. Our apartments are ideal not only for corporate accommodation but also for shorter term visits to Limerick like yours and we are so happy that we were able to help. Thank you also for the chocolates and card you left at reception. It was very kind of you and much appreciated! Wishing you a very 'Murry' Christmas from all the team here at the KIlmurry Lodge Hotel and we hope to see you again soon.

Following our arrival to the hotel, an error was noted in relation to room occupancy. We raised it immediately with the receptionist who totally understood our predicament and went into solution mode immediately! She offered us reassurance that the matter would be resolved and for us not to worry. We enjoyed an amazing meal in Nelligans after which our issue was resolved by the receptionist. The staff could not have been more helpful, from reception to bar/restaurant to management. I fully expected to pay extra for the night however in the essence of true hospitality, I was advised that the error was on the part of the hotel and I had no additional cost to pay. To say that I was impressed was an understatement; I have stayed in hundreds of hotels for business and pleasure and the response from this hotel was amazing! I will definitely be back. Thank you so much to all at the Kilmurry!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Can’t fault this hotel. From the staff member at checkin to checkout all were very friendly and welcoming. Grounds kept very well. Hotel spotless and our room was just what we asked for. Our evening meal was really enjoyable. Food was excellent and even though we are in challenging times we were made to feel very comfortable and relaxed. Breakfast was great also so don’t miss it before you head off. Great value. Definitely will return here.

Stayed for one week at The Kilmurry Lodge during a World Series sporting event. Very handy for the University where the event took place. This hotel seems to cater for very sporty types and a dress code in the dining room wasn’t something that many people bothered about. Staff were excellent, pleasant , helpful and smiley! Rooms were kept spotless and nothing was too much trouble. Food was of good quality however the menu was the same every night so two weeks could get a bit boring. Our only complaint was the the fact that guests let the doors slam at all hours despite notices around the hotel. Soft closures could be installed ?
All in all a great place to stay and more pleasant than in Limerick itself.

Dear helhec, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us here at the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel. We greatly appreciate your kind recommendation. Being a short walk from the University of Limerick makes us a popular choice whenever there is a sporting event or conference taking place. I am pleased we succeeded in catering for your needs to ensure a memorable experience for you. Finally, you will be pleased to know we are currently undergoing some refurbishments and soft closures for the doors is something which is currently being looked at. Should you be returning and have any accommodation requirements I would be happy to assist. I may be contacted direct on 061-331133 Ext. 0 or bernie@kilmurrylodge.com Kind regards, Bernie

Stayed with friends for 1 night. Walls paper thin and so over priced because of Ed Sheeran concert on same night! 125 without breakfast! Friends had breakfast and did say it was nice. All 3 rooms complained of noise during night as we were obviously put in section with all concert goers. When I highlighted this in the morning we were told that we should have called the night porter and it would be lodged on the system. The noisy rooms would be fined and we would have gotten a refund! Never have I heard of such a thing ...all talk. Was also told porter patrolled halls at night but if he did this night he was deaf for 2 hours straight as nothing was done? No information on where to contact anyone at night in room to my knowledge? Very disappointed and was told they would look at cameras and if only I had contacted the porter on duty. No contact since as they have my money and don't care. Plenty more places to stay in Limerick where you'll actually get a nights sleep.

This hotel was definitely not what I was expecting. Fotos of hotel rooms are very deceiving and inaccurately portray what I experienced here. The water pressure was the main issue here for me. The shower was weak and I could get no hot water out of it (it was also very confusing to use), whereas the sink had such high water pressure it would spray out of the sink at extremely high pressure, which flooded my bathroom floor three times a day. When the hot water was running in the sink, it felt like knives. This was possibly the cleanest sink bowl I've ever seen, considering that the pressure is so high that it get powerwashed daily. Only the *finest* food and drink were served here (very unpredictable meals and not much of a choice of what to eat for dinner). This hotel also has the very best hiding spots (stealth 100%). Overall, a very different, and frankly a weird experience.

Dear Journey24751195486, Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. We welcome the feedback we receive from all guests. We did have an unexpected issue with our boiler recently which was rectified as quickly as was possible. Apologies for the lack of hot water you experienced during your stay which I feel must have been due to this issue. Beyond that I feel at a loss to respond as your review takes a bizarre turn with what can only be described as cryptic content. However, should you be returning I would be happy to assist with reservations and may be contacted direct on 061 331133 Ext. 0 or bernie@kilmurrylodge.com Kind regards, Bernie (Guest Relations)

First off, let me say that the staff at this hotel is amazing. Everyone we encountered was kind and willing to help the best they could. The restaurant (particularly breakfast) is also very good, and definitely worth it. All of that being said, the rooms are not great. Judging by the pictures that I saw alone via my airline booking website, it appeared that the rooms were freshly remodelled, etc. The room we stayed in was not newly remodelled, was dimly lit, and had older furnishings and finishes. Do yourself a favour and check the hotels website before you book. If you do not care terribly about the room, the breakfast and staff are five stars.

Good Afternoon Vincent, We were so pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your visit with us, that our food offering was great and that you were so well looked after by our attentive team. Customer service is at the very heart of everything we do at The Kilmurry Lodge Hotel. Unfortunately, when you arrived our newly refurbished rooms were already occupied so they couldn't be allocated to you. We are sorry to hear that due to this your stay fell below your expectations. We do hope we shall have an opportunity to welcome you back to stay with us again in the future. Kind regards Alison Noonan Front Office Manager

I arrived here on the 8th December afternoon after booking through booking.com
I was due to stay elsewhere and had booked the wrong dates so I paid over €300 to come here instead.
I explained this to the girl on reception and I asked if she could include breakfast at least for that price, she said she couldn't do this and that this was my second choice of hotel anyway. I was startled by the comment.
I checked into room in the afternoon and it clear immediately that there was a lot of work going on elsewhere as the noise of hammers and drills was horrendous. I was on meetings on the laptop and it was very inconvenient. I said I would let it go as they might finish early. But the following morning, It was the exact same thing from the morning. I said enough was enough, for that money I do not need to be listening to this. So The lovely lady on reception has moved me to 111. Which meant that I had the hassle of packing all my things and moving to here.
I moved to another room and I was absolutely freezing. I was sitting with my coat and hat trying to keep warm. I had asked one of the hotel staff check this and they told me that the heat only comes on at a certain time. This is not ideal on a day that was -3 degrees outside
I am not one to complain. In fact, I hate been pushed to the point of making a complaint. But it all has been so poor since that moment on check in where I was made feel embarrassed about only coming here because I booked the wrong dates elsewhere to now where I am sitting freezing in my room.
I have stayed in many hotels over the years and I have worked in hospitality tour guiding and bringing tourists to hotels.
I am extremely disappointed that I have to complain because I usually promote the wonderful hospitality that Ireland is known for. But for paying over €300 for the hassle I have went through just does not sit well with me.
Terrible Experience
