fabulous service as usual. We booked late after a poor service elsewhere and when we arrived found our drinks ready at our table. Katy has the most sunny disposition and was so helpful squeezing us in with such short notice. The food was sublime as usual and I can't rate this establishment highly enough

We've stayed and eaten here before but tonight we were on a long journey on the M6 and couldn't bear a service station so just popped in here as it's only 5 mins off the motorway. We were brought great drinks quickly and food arrived very quickly too, just what was needed. Food was as expected; superb! My wife had...

Have eaten here before, last year and couldn't fault it. Recent visit I have to say very disappointing nothing like the same standard. The place itself is lovely rustic charm and comfortable. We went with friends after my recommendation. Fell short very short. I had an underdone pork burger with the worst red cabbage which was so salty and looked...

Had lunch here yesterday with friends. Have visited in the past and always enjoyed very tasty food and excellent service. Yesterday was no exception! We all ordered from the specials board and my cod with asparagus and a poached egg was delicious.

I took my lovely mum, her husband and my daughters for lunch on Mother's Day. The decor was very attractive and the staff incredibly attentive but not at all intrusive. The children's menu had some fab options which suited my little girls perfectly ( hummus and crudités, dippy eggs and soldiers) however, there were 4 cucumber sticks and 4 carrot...

Stopped here for lunch having driven past many times. Quite a high end menu with mains typically £14-15. We chose roast chicken and a lamb pie. Small chicken breast barely cooked through on a pile of stodgy mash with some creamy leeks and asparagus. Taste was OK but would not have eaten if had been any rarer. Lamb pie was...

I live only ten minutes by car from the Plough and it has become a recurrent haunt of mine. My wife and I were there last night for drinks and an early dinner with a friend, and I thought I should once again share my love affair with the place. We sat in the spacious bar area where there are...

After several meals eaten here we went as a family for a Friday evening meal. We were so disappointed by the standard of food of what is purporting to be a high-end menu. I chose hake fillet with an oxtail bolognaise which in itself was very tasty, but no accompaniment of salad/vegetables with what was a serving size fit for...

I've been to the plough 3 or 4 times with friends. It's a long way from home in Carlisle, but a great place to meet with friends from Lancashire. Love the place, the ambience, the decor, plenty of room and choice of tables and sofas to lounge on means you don't get bored of it. The food is always fabulous...

Well worth a visit, the food is good and taken either in the bar area or the dining room. The bedrooms are very nice, Good car park. Easy to get to from the M6. A lovely place to take a break, or just stop for lunch.
