#7 of 8 hotels in Waterton Lakes National Park
The Bayshore Inn & Spa is the only Lakefront hotel in Waterton. We just completed a renovation with new furniture, 50' TV's , beds, bedding, art & drapes . We boast the highest rated restaurants in the park, the Lakeside Chophouse,Thirsty Bear Kitchen + Bar. Red Rock Trattoria. We also have a Starbucks on property and the Serenity Spa! Most all our renovated rooms and suites are lakefront with balconies steps from the water. We are located right on Main St. in the heart of the village.

I booked this trip for my husband as a surprise anniversary trip. Our child care cancelled on us last minute, so we decided to take the kids along with us. When we arrived, the fan in the bathroom was broken, we only had one bath towel, and there was garbage from the previous guests left inside the room. How disgusting! We weren’t even sure if the room was properly cleaned or not which already grossed us out. The mouthwash was already half used (sick!) The cleaning staff arrived with towels upon request for us with no issues - which they were great. I had cleaned up the garbage and tidied the room upon check out which I normally would do..to genuinely help out. However, following check out, we received a call saying the tub was stained and they were unable to utilize their normal cleaning products to clean it. The previous night, we had a bubble bath with the shampoo/bubble bath we purchased at one of the lovely gift shops in town. We received a call saying we would be charged $150.00 for this (cleaning products they sold in town didn’t even amount to this price). Our surprise trip turned into a surprise bill of $150. Other than the nice view on the lakeside of the inn, I would not recommend staying here as management did not seem supportive or understanding. Anywhere you stay in waterton is easily walkable within minutes to enjoy the beautiful international peace lake from anywhere/hotel/lodge you stay at, not just at Bayshore inn. Not worth the price for what you get.

Hotel's Favourite
Bayshore is comfortable, clean and has all the amenities (except a pool, not that you need it of course) that you would expect from this type of hotel. I have no complaints about our room at all (2nd floor), which had 2 queen beds and a large balcony overlooking the lake - beautiful view. The staff were very helpful and friendly and spent a lot of time cleaning, not only the rooms and other areas, but the outside too. Waterton is a small town and pretty much most thiongs are walkable, but the location of this hotel, literally 20ft from the lake shore is what gives it the edge over other accommodation in the town, especially the famous Prince Of Wales hotel, which frankly, when we went up the hill to look at the outside of it and the view from the hill of the lake, looked like a tired 3 star 'had its day' property. Bayshore own the neighbouring Lakeside Chophouse, the Spa and The Thirsty Bear. I don't think, in this current climate, the Spa was open and we didn't try The Thirsty Bear, but we did have an evening meal in the Chophouse, which was on the pricier side, but was excellent. All-in-all a great 3 day getaway.

Well, the room was clean. But this place needs some updating. Furniture, beds especially not comfortable. Also it said we had a lakeview room. We could only see trees and cement. I would not stay there again. I believe it is the most expensive hotel in Waterton, but it should not be. Like I said needs some serious updating.

Thank you for your review Lisa. I am really confused as the furniture is not even 90 days old! We just put in all new furniture, lighting, drapes, mirrors, art, 50' TV's and beds. I am sorry you did not like it and found our new beds uncomfortable. Waterton is full of rustic lodges and our is the highest rated. I am so sorry we did not meet you standards.

We had visited Waterton before but stayed outside of town in a b&b. This time we wanted a complete rest post covid so chose bayshore as it is on the waters edge and it did not disappoint. The lake front room had 2x queen beds and was large and airy, great bathroom and shower. Beds were comfy. Fridge was welcome and a sml freezer space. Ground floor balcony was to die for. We also had grass in front of the balcony that we spread out onto and the lakeside right in front felt like our own private space. There was AC although it was wall mounted and made some it didn't matter as it certainly churned out the welcomed cold air. We don't drink coffee but the coffee maker also could be used.to make tea. The hair dryer was sml.but powerful.and the iron was also sml.but mighty even on my linen clothes. Staff were awesome we only had to ask and they dropped off towels and we got other things like tissue and toilet roll from reception. They do not currently clean while you are there because of covid but we asked for it to be vacuumed because of all the tree blossoms being blown in and they were happy to oblige, garbage we just left out side our door. We saw lots of deer in town, and we're amazed and lucky to have a blk bear swim down the lake and come out right in front of our unit just 30ft away. Wow Is it cheap no, is it value for money? Because of the location absolutely. No other places in the town has the location or the outdoor space unless you were camping. We would come back in a heart 💓

$0 refund and overcharged for $370+ standard room after voluntarily walking away shortly before check-in due to experiencing Covid-like symptoms. Was heading down to Waterton for the July long weekend, booked a $370 room on Expedia (taxes and extra charges included, pictures below) for Friday night. Shortly before check-in and during the drive, I started feeling flu-like symptoms. Concerned for my health and the safety of others at the hotel, I called the hotel to say I could not be able to come due to illness. I would have likely been turned away from the hotel anyways for failing the Covid questionnaire. It was a busy weekend but I took the time to check if they had extra rooms available for Friday night and I saw standard rooms available on the official Bayshore hotel website, Expedia, Bookings.com, Hotels.com, Agoda and Priceline; I knew they had rooms left. I selected for payment on hotel site on Expedia but was charged immediately while still in the car and also overcharged an extra $40+ (see image below for bank statement). Total charges on my credit card: $410+. I call the Bayshore manager to explain my situation and ask for a refund, he said he would speak to his manager and accounting. I was fully denied the refund as it was a "busy weekend" and they "had no rooms". Terrible service and respect for customers during covid-19, would not return.
