Serenity by the sea is exactly what it claims to be. The owners are extremely courteous, friendly and open. It's rare to find a stranger that invites you into their home not just once but over and over. They recommend trying out the outdoor bathtub and you would be a fool not to. Definitely ask for recommendations on where to...

I recently spent a wonderful week at Serenity resting and recharging. The location is heavenly and perfect for meditating, walking, reading and generally getting away from the every day hustle and bustle. The owners, Shera and Chidakash, are wonderful people and welcomed me with open arms, including inviting me to join them for dinners and a concert that they were...

We recently visited Serenity by the Sea for the second time, and wish we hadn't waited so long to return. It is a unique and amazingly beautiful place. Part of the magic is the natural environment: the incredible waterfront setting with sweeping sea views, twisty arbutus trees and the blessed quiet that comes from being so far away from the...

Serenity by the Sea is a restful, secluded, unpretentious sanctuary for meditation, walking, writing, reading, and sleeping (or some combination thereof), amidst the trees beside the water. Don't come expecting a high-end, fancy luxury resort. It's a down to earth, comfortable place to escape from the busy world for a while to focus on becoming centred, grounded and replenished. There...

I have stayed here twice, once with two girlfriends in the separate cottage and once with my husband in the main house. Both times were fantastic. The owners are so nice, so "gulf island", and welcome you into their family. It is just perfect if you are looking for a real West Coast Island experience. I loved the cliffside bathtub....

In this unique ocean setting, I was inspired to contemplate, write, pray and sing while walking through the nearby mountain. I came back to Vancouver rested, rejuvenated and happy. A must visit.

A lovely place that could not be better located. It is as oasis of calm with magnificent views. The accommodations are comfortable and the host is very helpful, if a bit eccentric. The only category that could use improvement is "cleanliness". You might want to take precautions if you have dust allergies or if you are creeped out by cob...

The Serenity by the Sea Retreat is the gem of Galiano Island. It is a place of tranquility, peace, beauty and inner healing, a place that provides a deep “sense of home.” Its buildings and other aspects of the place, such as a flowing creek and pond, gardens, and walkways to the seashore, mesh very well with the surrounding natural...

It was serendipitous to find this getaway in Galliano at a time in my life when I needed this type of vacation. 'Serenity By the Sea' has great karma, lovely charm and lots of natural beauty. Hosts Shera and Chidikash are gracious and giving. The architectural design of this retreat is beautifully thought out. The round table breakfast of french toast...

Recently our family spent some time at the "Serenity by the Sea Retreat", on Galiano Island in BC's Gulf Islands. We had a wonderful time at Serenity by the Sea, starting with a warm, hospitable and light-hearted welcome from hosts Shera and Chidakesh Street. We found them to be charming and genuine hosts, most willing to do anything in their...
