We were on a fishing trip to Hardy. On the plus side, they had a gear drying room that came in very handy since we were soaked every day. Next, there is a sushi restaurant attached, although we didn't try it. Also on the plus side, the price was very good. On the flip side, very dated and run down,...

Handy to the ferry is their only claim to fame. The price was 35 dollars above the quoted price and the room smelled as if the last fisherman had forgotten his catch. There was supposedly WIFI but it was 'shut down'. Chalk it up to adding an adventure to travelling.

The second year in a row a group of us have stayed for five days. Perfectly located to explore the area and launch boats in Coal Harbour. The owner is friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate for staying in the rugged north island area. I don't know if the TV worked and didn't care...

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodations. We were fishing for 5 days and stayed in the kitchenette. While the rooms are quite worn and not first class they were clean and comfortable. The price is super reasonable. It isn't a luxury hotel but is a great place to stay!

We didn't have the best of starts to our stay at the Pioneer - we had been bumped out of previously booked accommodation at a hotel in town and were despatched to the Pioneer. It was that or a night in our friend's car while we waited for the ferry. We honestly tried to make the best of it but...

Basic accommodation and okay for a day or so. Very close to the ferry terminal for the very early morning departure to Prince Rupert. Everything worked in the room and it was quiet and we felt safe. The staff were extremely helpful. There are no restaurants within walking distance. V

There are slim pickings in this small town, and prices are high for what you get. The Pioneer Inn is very well worn--chipped paint, old carpets, etc. But it was clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was quiet (it was pretty empty, so we can't judge what it would be like if it was full). Our room had a...

Great stay for four nights with a group of SCUBA diving buddies. Well priced for rooms with kitchens. Not a worry about dragging gear in and out of living rooms and loads of space to store it. Owner very friendly and gave good advise for local diving areas. Nice and relaxed dealings with staff. The bed was clean and comfortable....

There was black mould throughout the bathroom and in the living room as well as mouse droppings in my bed. The place reeked of cigarette smoke even though it is advertised as a non-smoking room. The amenities are minimal at the least e.g. microwave and dirty stove that you would not want to use. Advertised as two bedrooms but was...

I really can't say anything good about this place. There was water dripping on us overnight, there wasn't any battery in the smoke detector and I had serious doubts the beds were clean. I will never stay here again. Please heed my warning, DON'T STAY HERE!!
