My boyfriend and I visited this campsite a couple of weeks ago with friends. We camped for 2 nights and can safely say we will be going back! The site was nice and spacious with good on site facilities including a cafe where we went for breakfast - the food was lovely! The reason I haven't given 5* is because...

Chose the site because it was well placed for walks. Camped with group of friends in two tents. Decent facilities including cafe which offers really nice breakfasts. Well worth the wait. Pubs in close proximity. Families and couples on site. Quiet campsite once night fell. Recommend.

Stayed here on the 16th and 17th of September 2016. Went to the cafe at 9.30 and was told that there would be a long wait for an English breakfast so ordered some bacon and sausage sandwiches plus coffee... People who arrived after us were being given take away coffees and food whilst we waited for 30mins without food or...

We have a bar policy of topping up your pint without question...because different people like their pints presented differently. The lodges started the season with place settings for 8 (the expected maximum occupants are 4 or 6 & there is an integrated dishwasher); if they have been attrited over the season and we haven't noticed, my sincere apologies for the...

We stayed for 3 nights on the electrical hook-up camping area and this review is bit of a mixed bag... I have only given a 3* rating as the noise on the final night rather took the shine off. If that hadn't happened or the situation had been managed then it would have been 4*/5* We arrived on Friday afternoon...

Thank you for your considered review, despite the irritation caused by your near neighbours on Sunday night. There was no intention to allocate "blame" in my response to your emailed comments.....but you posed a reasonable question - what are the arrangements for dealing with emergencies or antisocial behaviour after reception is closed - to which my response was. 1) The...

Having just returned from a three night stay at Rivendale I have a mixed review to post. They location is fabulous for exploring the limestone features of the south Peak District and the campsite is an interesting location inside an old quarry, however this is where the positives must stop. 1 - We where camping in the electric hook up...

We stayed in a wooden yurt which was lovely, only disadvantage was the showers and toilets are a long walk away so could do with some more, torches are essential. Restaurant - Nice but not big enough for families, the back part of the restaurant is not available to use if you have kids, also not too sure about dogs...

Thank you for your kind review. There is a dog-free ground floor room where families with children can go if you don't like dogs. I'll let chef know your thoughts - he brings a smile to us too! Best wishes

We had a voucher bought at Christmas and decided to use it for our Wedding anniversary weekend as it was for a yurt... i hate camping on my anniversary. I was blown away by the cuteness - i know - i'm sad! I loved the yurt. So did our 6 year old son... he wants to build one in the...

This is a camp site with potential but could do a lot better. We stayed at a pod. The pod was fine, everything worked and it was as big as suspected. Pro: - shop, bar and food at the campsite - good showers in the main showerblock - friendly staff Con: - the pods are situated ad the edge of...

Thank you for your review. There are views over the park and countryside to the east as may be seen in the picture gallery and many people (us particularly) like trees, although I guess they do restrict the view. The parking area is rolled stone to blend with the landscape - as required by the National Park Authority, but not...

Stayed for six nights in a tent with electric hook up. When booked they said it was a five minute walk to the toilets. As it happens a new toilet block was partly open for us to use. What a poor design. Only one window that opened next to one of the two toilets. Needless to say that it stinks...

It is hard to avoid a sense of frustration when you draw advise of the characteristics of a certain location e.g. - 5 minute walk to the main toilet building where the showers are, but there are some loos closer for emergencies - only for them to become a source of complaint. We enforce the noise rule and have a...
