We arrived at the famed Cabot Resort with high expectations. These were quickly dashed. You pull into the parking lot and nobody to greet you. You look around to see where to go. You make you way to check in. Then informed at a resort you are paying in excess of $550 a night that their main dining room is closed for the season!! You can dine at the Bar or the Public House. Wow... thrilling. Not what the clientele they are trying to attract expect. There are also zero amenities for the price. No pool, no gym, no spa. They do have lovely views from the rooms and the sunset is something else. Nice bath products. Room was clean but small. If looking for a true luxury golf resort in Nova Scotia that non golfers can enjoy, head to Fox Harb’r. You will not be disappointed. It is my hope that Cabot will build on their resort to improve the experience of their non golfing guests. …
Travelled recently to take advantage of a special rate as this is a very expensive resort to stay and golf at. The golf is first rate and this hotel caters to the golfers. The courses rate in the top 100 courses and the views are wonderful. We had a king bed with a balcony room in front of first tee. The room was ok but not worth the price in my opinion. The balcony door's screen was broken. I expected more amenities for non golfers..no spa, gym or pool. on the plus side, the staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The Cabot bar was a good place to eat with lovely views. All in all, very nice place but not worth the $.
Our recent two night stay was simply fantastic. Room (King room) was excellent. Located with a balcony off the first tee it was a great way to start and end each day. Large bathroom and shower area with a very generous soaking tub. Bed was extremely comfortable. We ate at all meals on site and they were outstanding as well. Very high end and deserving of its stellar reputations!!
I haven't stayed yet. This review centres around the booking experience, which has been very painful. We booked after a friend mentioned he was reserving at the same time as we were planning on going to Nova Scotia - so we figured we would join them. There happened to be a promotion on for a free bag tag after reserving, which the reservation agent indicated would be shipped along with the reservation confirmation email. We also booked a tee time to play with our friends. So far, they have messed up the reservation dates (2 nights instead of 1), the amount of golfers (1 instead of 2) and apparently run out of the promotional bag tags. I'm sure the property and facility is top notch, but this isn't a good start.
First Class enough said! TA wants more! We played the links course first and Archie the caddy helped me have one of my better rounds. Weather was great and the course is in excellent condition. The next day we did 9 on the Cliff course. The wind was too much for these 2 Irishmen. My thoughts are that these are two of the best courses you’ll find anywhere. Expect to pay a few bob! 🦅
