Was very surprised at how nice this place was. Looks very old and dated from the outside but....that's because it is old ! Excellent job of updating the insides. Rustic atmosphere but very clean and provides everything you need for a stay in Picton. Can't beat the location, lots of parking. Walk to everything, just off Main St. We stayed...

Spent two days at Sandbanks and then stayed the night in between at the Fenix - it was a short 10-15 minute drive away with a Tim's, McDonald's, grocery store, pharmacy and gas station near by - perfect for families with little ones.. It was exactly what we were looking for/expected. We reserved a suite, cancelled it (as the weather...

We liked Picton and the location of the Fenix in the town is good. However the property is so dark with no ventilation that we felt very claustrophobic. When we first arrived we were faced with an almost choking odour of stale urine in the back bedroom. We managed to get rid of this a bit by keeping all the...

I phoned in June to book a room for September 10 for 2 people. At no time during this conversation did the owner indicate that summer weekends require a 2 night stay, nor is it mentioend in his website. When I emailed today to confirm the booking, I received a phone call from a Tammy Love (of The Cottage) that...

We were disappointed with our stay at the Fenix. It is in the heart of Picton however we felt it was poor value for money. On the plus side, the bedroom was roomy and the bed comfortable. The suite was clean and the bathroom was updated, however the low ceilings and lack of air flow made the suite feel stuffy...

Great location in Picton and charming, but unfortunately one thing ruined it for me and my husband. We were in the area for a wedding this past weekend and stayed at The Fenix for one night in the 68 lower room. Positives: Great location and very handy that we were able to check in when we wanted using the lock...

Four sisters stayed second last weekend in May. Loved the location. So convenient to walk around Picton. Place had loads of charm. Certain style but we loved it. Clean. The owner, Dwayne, was very responsive to phone calls etc. if you want a central location, walkable to downtown Picton, with some shabby chic charm, this is a great place.

We stayed one night at 64 Mary Street and it was one night too many!!! The apartment was filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, hair in the shower, spider webs everywhere and lots of crumbs on the floor.

First off, this is not a B & B so don't expect breakfast. The unit we stayed in (68 Mary Street) was a nice little apartment style place with our own little kitchen, nicely decorated, small window AC, large fan, TV mounted over fireplace, exposed brick, adequate bathroom, leather loveseat, small kitchen table. It was a perfect little place for...

There were bugs all over. No air conditioning really -- small one in the window upstairs that didn't even cool the upstairs. We tried to use the washer and dryer in suite and it filled up with water but would not finish the load. We had to empty out wet laundry and find a laundromat. When we asked the owner...
