Thank you for your review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay even with the bad weather.
Wonderful location. Spectacular views. Cleanest pit toilets we've ever used. Good management looking after site.
Road is OK. We knew about it beforehand so no issue. Also went off site most days so travelled the road often.
Peaceful and relaxing stay

I'm wondering about kayaking into the Broken Islands from Mussel Beach. I've launched from Sechart Whaling station and Toquart Bay in the past. Would the channels be too challenging? Approximately how long to paddle one way? Is Mussle Beach a popular staging area for the Broken Islands?

Hello,We have had a lot of people use Mussel Beach as a starting point for the broken islands or just for day trips. If you head right across it takes a good hour and a half of paddling and it is open ocean so weather can be an issue. You can also head down past Salmon Beach and then over which is longer but more protected. We charge $5.00 per day per car for parking . Hope this answers your question, for more info you can give us a call at 250-893-2267.
