Rooms are renovated nicely, central to the Guildford mall if you like to shop. Restaurant and bar were good. Had an issue with our shower curtain being dirty, they immediately changed our room and comped us some beverages. Would stay again.
Fabulous hotel! Friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable staff. Secure underground parking, great food in the restaurant, very close to the huge shopping mall, on a main bus line, the hotel shuttle will take you to the nearby train station for a 30 minute trip into downtown Vancouver....More
This hotel is nice and has all the amenities that you would expect. With that said, having “Vancouver” in the name is somewhat misleading as the hotel is not in Vancouver... If you are looking to go downtown Vancouver, this is not the place for...More

Depends on what the extra cost is on the night you're considering. You get free continental breakfast (maybe valued at ~$10-15 per person), and free snacks and bottled water/bevs (~$5 p/p). Other amenities like free wifi and phone calls might not be worth as much, since wifi is free in all rooms and most travelers have cell phones.
You'd have to do the math but generally it's not worth it, usually a perk hotels use to reward loyal customers and some businesses permit their employees to book these rates. Think of it like flying first class. Is it objectively worth it financially? Probably not. Is it fun to splurge sometimes? Sure is!
