Tai and Pierre are the most gracious hosts. You are welcome to feel like family or do your own thing. You can stay in there beautifully designed home or stay just a stone's throw away in their netted "dome," which is pretty luxurious for a cabana-type accommodation (did I mention the free wi-fi?). Finding Casa Chemsi can be an adventure...

We stayed with Pierre and Tai over the New Years holiday. We spent one night in one of the huge rooms in their beautiful home and the second night in their dome in the Jungle. The rooms were spotless and well maintained. We had a wonderful breakfast each day with the hosts that made us feel very welcome and at...

My husband and I stayed with Pierre (Tai was out of the country) at Casa Chemsi in August of 2013. We were looking for a place in Tulum proper, but ended up staying here instead. We were SO relieved when we arrived and looked at Tulum's extremely overcrowded and overpriced hotel zone that we had chosen Chemsi! You have to...

We had a lovely week at Casa Chemsi. Pierre and Tai are delightful, warm, friendly hosts. We loved biking to the beach, exploring a bunch of other-worldly cenotes, and getting to see beautiful birds, lizards, plants and fish. The house is beautifully designed, and our room was very comfortable.

We love and highly recommend Casa Chemsi and our gracious, delightful hosts Tai and Pierre. Their B&B is a beautiful, ecologically hand-crafted home in the jungle, 2 km from the beach between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Our room was very comfortable, breakfasts were delicious with an abundance of local tropical fruits, fresh eggs from Casa Chemsi's own hens, granola,...

My wife and I stayed at Casa Chemsi in February 2012, a little jungle oasis seemingly "in the middle of nowhere", but in retrospect, a perfect headquarters for the many things to see and do in the area. Just to give a taste: This house is: 3 minutes to Xunan Ha cenote 5 minutes from the AMAZING turtle sanctuary white...

“Stay in their spacious home if you want immediate access to Tai and Pierre's captivating stories and/or just like being in a building. Stay in the dome, their netted cabana, if you want to feel like you are away from it all. Even there, you have wi-fi and electric if you decide to be a little less away from it all. The oscillating fan out there is a nice touch.”

“We stayed in the main room, highly recommended.”
  • The open shower with views of the jungle as you bath.
  • I just loved the design and function of the bathroom.
  • The main room, where we stayed.
