The best part of this hotel is that it's on an amazingly beautiful lake and the rooms have wood burning fireplaces. Beyond that, the rooms look tired and need some updating.
There is nothing around which can be nice but then you are held hostage...More
Our room was such a disappointment and at $440/night, I expected SO MUCH MORE!! The room was old, tired, run down and very dirty! The plaster was cracked, the screen was stuffed into the window such that we had to block the openings with kleenex...More

Arriving at Emerald Lake late on a summer afternoon, the crowds had dwindled. The lake was beautiful. We had dinner at the lodge outdoors on a patio at the edge of the lake. It was idyllic. The food was nicely prepared. We shared a chocolate...More
Great staff, great food, great setting, with lots to do and see. We hiked around the lake with our 91 yr old mother-in-law, canoed for several hours, fished several times, and enjoyed day tripping from the Lodge. Be sure to park at the overnight lot...More

I would still stay at emerald lake.
I would hope that management would be responsive to the critiques in so many reviews but the flaws of the lodge aside, there is little more inspiring than mornings and evenings in such a beautiful place, and not having to be day tripper to get therewith all the other tourists. I would still go back, albeit with lowered expectations, and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
