Two of our three sons have received their university degrees at one of the many institutions of higher learning in Nova Scotia. Hence Priscilla and I find ourselves in Lunenberg, a quaint and charming UNESCO Wolrd Heritage Site. There is not much to choose from in Lunenberg in the way of accomodation. We are not Bed and Breakfast types. After...

My daughter and I stayed one night in the attic suite and enjoyed the entire experience tremendously. Every comfort was available, and the public rooms downstairs are very cozy and decorated in period style with traditional colours throughout. All areas are scrupulously clean and inviting. A huge continental breakfast was served in the dining room, and our gracious host made...

As we approached and entered the Mariner King our hearts sank. The outside of the building showed clear signs of needing care , pealing paint, worn doors and steps in need of staining. The lobby area was dark and painted an odd and unpleasent color of green, the carpets looked grey and tired. The public rooms were dimly lite and...

Spotless, great staff, loved our room with the sitting area. One of the best continental breakfasts we have had. Homemade scones, fresh fruit etc., everything you would want. We enjoyed the living room and area, old antiques etc.

Lovely hotel comprised of three buildings . We stayed in one of the modern rooms for our anniversary. Great location . Walk to everything. View of waterfront from room. Beautiful bed and spotlessly clean and modern bathroom. Main house is beautiful. Excellent breakfast including smoked salmon, fruit, homemade scones, muffins and jams. Very professional and friendly staff. Having grown up...

Mariner King rooms are adequate but a bit quirky. The bed was comfortable enough and housekeeping was good. Staff were nice, but young and not overly professional. The location you cannot beat for exploring Lunenburg (but there are lots of downtown inns).

Mariner King Inn is a lovely hotel in the heart of town. My friend and I stayed there in September while in Lunenburg for a wedding. The highlight of our stay was the delicious complementary breakfast, complete with scones fresh out of the oven and mimosas (champagne & orange juice)! The hotel has lots of historic character and little luxurious...

This was probably the best of the inns we stayed in in Nova Scotia. It could'nt really be faulted-good room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and very friendly staff. Lunenburg is a gem of a place, and I'd love to return.I'd certainly stay here if I did.

Another of those historic inns, full of history and charm. Our bedroom was large with period furniture, the bed was comfortable and soft. A modern bathroom with plenty of soft towels and usual soaps etc. Breakfast was a pleasure, the lady serving us was pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. An enjoyable stay!
