Broken, uneven interlocking stone, perennial gardens not weeded. Moss growing between the cracks of the interlocking stone on the balconies. Rooms were nice. Staff helpful. But the grounds really need work. For the calibre of the resort the grounds should be pristine.

Sheila A, thank you for posting comments regarding your visit to the resort. Based on the details of your post I am assuming you were here in summer or early autumn. It is great to read your positive note about the nice rooms and helpful staff. Regarding landscaping at the resort, it is designed to be true to the destination and to remain as natural as possible, with indigenous plants, grasses and wild flowers. That being said, it is certainly important to maintain well-manicured terraces and I am sorry that the level of grounds maintenance during your stay did not reflect this. Our team works hard to keep everything looking great and we will approach next season with a focus on these areas. Thanks again for your feedback and I hope we can look forward to welcoming you back soon.

My g/f and I visit the Rosseau once a year, simply based on the beauty of the surrounding area. We are not picky people by any means but this may be the last time we go and wouldn't recommend it anymore. For 1, this place is highly over-priced. Just one night will cost over $300

Chris C, thank you for your review. As a loyal guest who returns year after year to enjoy the scenic nature views we greatly appreciate your feedback. I am sorry that your recent experience was not at the standard we aim to deliver. I can understand the desire to view the lake from your room balcony however guest safety is our utmost priority. During the winter months it is difficult to guarantee the conditions of snow and ice, therefore balconies are locked to ensure guest safety. In regards to your dining experience, I do apologize for the reservation confusion and will be sure to share directly with the Food and Beverage team. I hope you will consider speaking to a member of our leadership team directly to discuss the specifics of your stay.

We just got home from our weekend stay at the JW Marriott in Muskoka. We visited in order to celebrate our anniversary and the hotel added a few special touches to make our anniversary more enjoyable. We had breakfast at the Cottages and enjoyed a dinner at the Muskoka

deltalove1989, happy anniversary! Thank you for celebrating this special occasion with us in winter wonderland. It sounds as though you had a memorable experience with delicious dining, swims in the indoor outdoor pool and roasting marshmallows by the fire. A day filled with exploring the local breweries always pairs well with Lake's beer-infused fish and chips. We look forward to welcoming you back again this summer!

The room was well appointed but disappointingly dirty the hard surfaces when wiped by my wife the cloth was black with dirt the carpet had pieces from the time of arrival to 3 days later. Had several disappointing experiences at the restaurants and buffets offered by resort. My

Our company made plans for two nights, one being a Christmas party (the party in a party) - we weren't sure how it would compare to a summer stay, as we'd heard great things about visiting that time of year. The only way to describe our arrival was that it was magical!

sailorm0on, thank you for sharing your wonderful review! The resort team will be so pleased to hear how much your group enjoyed the Party in a Party at JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka. The nice thing about this style of holiday party is that a smaller group can enjoy the atmosphere of a gala event with a delicious buffet, grooving dance floor and entertaining DJ. The Sales and Events team which Alysa and Karen are a part of, do a great job at customizing the experience to suit each company's style. Your group's customized vegan nacho bowls and adjusted nature walk times reflect just that - a crafted group experience. I am so glad that your corporate holiday social was such a success and I hope you will return again soon to experience the beauty of Lake Rosseau!

Jennifer, We are so excited to welcome you to the resort during the holidays! The Recreation team is just putting the final touches on the activity brochure and it will be released on our website and social media sites shortly. During your dates of stay there will be guided snowshoe walks, fat biking, campfire breakfast, kids crafts, yoga and more! On New Year's Eve, there will be special menus offered at Teca, Muskoka Chophouse and even a holiday buffet in the ballroom. There will also be a New Year's Eve party in the ballroom that includes a DJ'd dance party, party favours and midnight toast. To guarantee activities and dining times please reserve in advance by calling the resort directly and ask to speak with a member of Concierge. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Rachel, we are so excited to welcome you this summer all the way from Bristol, U.K! The resort's remote location means that our guests are treated to memorable natural surroundings and the perfect escape from the city. With these scenic views comes reduced forms of public transportation. To aid you in your quest for sightseeing at Algonquin Park the best option would be to rent a car so you can make several stops for viewing along the way and get to specific hiking trails. Another option would be to take a taxi but this would be quite costly. If you call the resort directly the Concierge team would be happy to assist in sourcing out additional transportation options.

Matthew B, With the colder temperatures we have had the last few days, the engineer team has been working hard on the rink! We cannot guarantee the rink will be ready in time for the holidays but if mother nature keeps up with the cold weather you may be just in luck! Skates and snowshoes are included in your resort fee so you definitely can use them around the property. The holiday recreation brochure has a lot of fun planned for our guests including horse drawn wagon rides, dog sledding, campfire cooking, Bingo and trivia nights, adult only paint night, guided nature walks with a naturalist, astronomy and yoga to name a few. If you visit our website at therosseau . com you view the holiday recreation brochure under the recreation tab. There will be lots to do and see, especially now that we have over 50 cm of snow!
