Our experience with the Sooke River Campground is worth a 5 star rating ! What made it most enjoyable were the hosts Georgia and Joe.. The grounds are beautifully kept, (Joe is forever outside working on them)... and Georgia is always available to meet your needs. The washrooms and showers are clean enough to eat from ! I hightly recommend...

Really enjoyed our stay. The caretakers are wonderful, love the little store inside the office. Would love to see a pop or juice vending machine ;) Down side was the recent fire ban and heat but completely out of anyone's control. A nice dip in the river and a propane fire did the trick and we will definitely go back...

On checking in we were greeted by a lovely and friendly lady, what a nice way to start out for the weekend. We had reserved a spot along the creek side rather than the river so there would be some shade. Unfortunately It was rather close to the entrance so we did get a bit of road noise during the...

We came to the campground with our car and tent. There werent many people around so we had plenty of space for everything. Every campsite has its own table/bench and a fireplace. The washrooms are the cleanest ive seen so far on the island (i have been to 3 this far) and the personel was very friendly. It is imporotant...

It's a nice place. But very small. The lady who checked me in was nice but she put us in a 22 foot deep trailer site when in have a 29 foot trailer. Do the math it doesn't quite fit lol I had to park my trailer on an angle for it to fit. Would only go back for a...

Stayed at sooke river campground at the end of september and the weather was excellent. We really enjoyed watching the seals catching the salmon that were coming up stream to spawn. We even saw river otter enjoying the salmon as well. Eagles, Great blue herons, and Kingfishers were also there for the feast. In the early morning mist fishermen waist...

I need three things from a campsite. This place provided all of them. 1. A warm welcome. 2. Good Wi-Fi 3. Tent pegs that go in the ground like butter and stick like molasses. We had two adults, two kids with a six man tent and everyone was happy. Lots of space. Good playground. When the four year old says...

“The cabins back onto the park, so if you planning on sleeping in and don't want to hear other peoples kids at 7 am playing in the park, I'd stay away from the cabins. Perfect location though for ppl with little kids as you wouldn't want them out of your site or you'd get a fine. No joke.”
