A most welcoming host to a perfectly situated accommodation for enjoying the town of Magog on foot. The large backyard offers sitting areas by the pond, gazebo, fire pit or pool. We enjoyed the company of other guests on the large veranda as well as in the cozy living room. But the crown of the jewel has to be the breakfast Delicious to the point of being difficult to find the words to do it justice. We have met a couple who have returned here 3 times specifically for it. So would we. DB
Called at the last minute. They had a beautiful little cozy room just for me in an alcove. The view was spectacular though the rain in the morning. AC in the room. Breakfast was beautifully magical. The hosts Caroline and Benjamin are fabulously accomadating. The room was perfect for me and everything was down to the smallest detail including qtips and make-up remover sponges. I will make a return for certain. Hiking and cycling trails look very interesting.
My daughter and I stayed 2 nights at the Manoir de la rue Merry. This is a little gem located in the heart of Magog and walking distance to many of the main activities. The hosts are very hospitable and accommodating. The breakfasts are among the best we ever had in a B&B, with many homemade products. The garden is intimate and inviting. A swim in the pool at the end of a very hot day was most welcomed. We would definitely recommend the Manoir de la rue Merry if you plan a visit to Magog.
My wife and I enjoyed our time at the B&B. You can walk into Downtown Magog in 5 minutes, and our room and bed were comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well, and though the bathroom was exceedingly small, it functioned and was clean. I have two things that may help fellow travellers when they consider booking this location. 1. Language - speaking French would have created a better experience for us. One of the hosts did speak workable English. I like to converse with hosts and other visitors, and this is not something that could happen at the B&B or, for that matter, for most of the establishments we frequented in Magog. 2. If you are looking for decor reminiscent of the time of the building, I found that there were period pieces, but the great majority appeared to be from mainstream shops. There was also an interesting focus on wine bottle openers, but wines were not available, nor were there any suggestions of local vineyards. We didn't ask about it due to the language barrier.…
On route to New Hampshire we wanted to stay in Magog on a Sunday night in late April. As we were the only guests for this night Caroline offered us a larger room and recommended a good italian restaurant 5 minutes away for dinner. The breakfast was as excellent as other reviewers have found, overall a great place to stay
This was a charming Victorian B&B, very centrally located min Magog. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the accommodation was comfortable, and the breakfasts were absolutely amazing. Highly recommended
I spent 3 glorious days at this most charming Victorian inn . Caroline & Benjamin waited on me hand and foot as though I were family. Btway, no need to find a restaurant for lunch . The homemade, 3 course meal is a feast for royalty enough to satisfy you till dinner. Moreover, location, location, location! …meters away to the marina, lake, restaurants and shops. Cannot wait to go back to experience the many splendors of our Quebec fall. GROS Merci pour votre gentilesse ! Rita C.
This B & B is located in a charming Victorian house, steps away from Magog's City Center. Run by Caroline and Benjamin, we were really impressed with the three different breakfasts we were served, all home-made by Caroline. The owners followed all COVID-19 protocols imposed by the Province and we felt really safe staying there. They were also helpful in answering any questions about the various places we wanted to visit around Magog. This B & B would be ideal for downhill and cross country skiers because of its proximity to Mont Orford which is 10 minutes away by car.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the Eastern Townships, this place cannot be beat. The locally sourced 3-course breakfast each morning is a fantastic way to start the day, and the service here cannot be beat. The backyard is beautiful, and the heated saltwater pool is a nice treat. Can't recommend this place highly enough if you're looking to spend some time in the Eastern Townships.
We always plan our trips around staying in small inns and B&B’s. Manoir rue Merry is amongst if not the best we have ever stayed in. Hospitality is excellent and if you think the photos of the food look good, wait until you taste them.
