Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights and had a great stay. Our hosts greeted us upon arrival and were very welcoming, showing us to our room and also informed us about places we should visit within the eastern townships. The home was bright, stylish, clean and comfortable. Our room was great - which beyond a very comfortable bed included an ensuite bathroom, a mini fridge, a seating area and a tv with Netflix. The house also had a pool which was free to use at any time, and they provided us with towels to use at the pool or at the nearby beach. Breakfast was also incredible, I have a gluten allergy (celiac disease) and was served amazing gluten free breakfasts. They were very careful with my allergy and I felt safe enjoying the food I was given. The home was also perfectly located near the beach and Main Street of the town. if you’re visiting the townships I definitely recommend staying in Magog. The town is close to key locations within the townships and has some great restaurants. Thank you so much for our incredible stay, we hope to return one day!

A cozy place to stay on our holiday getaway. The room was very comfortable and the food delicious! Louise and Richard are so warm and welcoming, they went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed and helped me choose a great restaurant for a romantic dinner. Thank you!

Louise and Richard are pros at knowing what people are looking for in a B&B. They were able to accommodate all of our needs. Their home was warm, cozy, and the beds were so comfortable. Their breakfasts were a solid “10” (1-10)! We will be back!

Shortly after booking through them, we received an email asking 1) Do you have allergies or food intolerances? 2) Are you vegetarian? 3) Do not like/eat certain foods? AND the spoiling started. Arrival is between 4pm-8pm. We received our key from Louise and she showed us to our room. We had booked The Singing Rooster suite as it had a nice sitting area. We received a coupon for local restaurants that offered a discount. Tuesday morning's breakfast was maple yogourt with granola and fruit and a glass of orange juice. Coffee was also served. Then we had an omelette (bacon, cheese and veggies) with home fries and toast with homemade strawberry jam. BUT wait there's more, a small individual chocolate cake with melted chocolate sauce. Heavenly. Louise gave us pamphlets of places to explore in the area and a suggested scenic route down to Stanstead. Wednesday morning's breakfast was strawberries with a light sprinkling of balsamic vinegar. Then French toast which was made with cinnamon raisin bread. Between the two pieces was a bacon and light cheese layer with Quebec maple syrup. Divine! To finish, an individual vanilla cake with maple. * Two other woman were staying at the same time as us and they are vegetarians. Richard and Louise ensured that they had a meatless meal. Louise said their goal was to spoil us and boy did we ever feel spoiled!! Richard and Louise are the best!

This is a lovely bed and breakfast. The hosts are wonderful, very friendly and inviting and kept us laughing and entertained throughout our stay. We have stayed there several times, and have made it our birthday getaway, i.e. at least twice a year. We are returning again in November, accompanied by our family.

We just finished a perfect 3 night stay at Au Coq du Bonheur. The house is charming and the hosts, Louise and Richard, are delightful. We highly recommend the Suite Le Coq Chanteur - bright and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The B&B is within walking distance of many great restaurants and very close to the waterfront. If you are planning a trip to Magog, we highly recommend staying at Au Coq du Bonheur. Thank you Louise and Richard for making us feel so welcomed.

Breakfasts were top of the line. The room was very nice and the bed comfortable. The hosts were great and went the extra mile to answer questions and help with an excursion. Magog is a nice place to spend a few days with plenty of places to walk and cycle..

Hello, We enjoyed so much having you all for a 3-night stay and thanks for your beautiful comment! We always go extra miles to make the most for our guests and make sure they enjoy their time here fully. As for your recommendation to provide bottled water in the rooms, we decided a few years ago to have a large water cooler available in the common areas so that our guests can use it, this to avoid waste and especially, to do our part to save the planet from too many plastic bottles thrown in the garbage. Thank you for your understanding! We certainly hope to see you again in the future and best regards to all from both of us!

Very nice, clean place. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the food was good. The only issue we had was the shower was very restrictive. We were in the room with the shower/tub combination (the original upstairs bathroom). All in all though, we were very pleased with our stay!

Dear Maia, Thank you very much for your nice words and feedback! All of our 4 rooms have their own full private bathroom, which is so appreciated by our guests. Our romantic suite is the one that has the biggest bathroom and because our house is 72 years old, we unfortunately cannot do anything about the bath/shower combination. The shower has an appropriate size and we must say that it happened only 2 or 3 times when overweight guests mentioned they were a little cramped. We are very happy that overall, you thoroughly enjoyed your stay! Best regards from both of us.
