I really liked staying at the Motel De L'Outlet and will stay here again if in Magog. Our room was clean, spacious and newly updated. It came with coffee, a fridge and many other amenities. The motel is located on a busy residential street, across from the curling club, and is about a 10 minute walk to Magog's main street.
The rooms are small but ell equipped. The air conditioning worked well. But the couple who run he place are trying to do everything themselves. They only clean the rooms after guests leave. And when I asked for more tea or coffee, they offered me one small bag for the three of us though she finally gave me some Chinese tea from her kitchen. I imagine that the owners bought this place before the pandemic and are now struggling to hold on.
Coming to Magog without a car, the Motel de l'Outlet was ideal. You even get a view of boats along the Magog River from the hotel. There are restaurants within maybe 5 minutes walk along Rue Merry where it crosses the river and a few minutes further, I was already at the Rue Principale, with all the amenities and restaurants that this street offers. The easy walking proximity to the lake was great for strolling--I got a particularly gorgeous sunset, simply stunning with the mountains abutting the lake. Really, Magog is a great getaway from Montreal. The room was clean and well-kept. The beds were a little hard for my taste and I could hear the neighbouring room better than I might have liked, but other than that, I was quite happy.
We booked this motel via Trip Advisor while travelling the highway in ice rain and were so happy we did! The owner promptly called to let us know our reservation was confirmed but that their office was closing so our key would be in the mailbox just outside to the right and to travel safe and come see them in the morning to sign some paperwork. We arrived after 11pm. It was a nice, cozy little motel from the outside and just as nice & cozy on the inside. Very clean and everything we needed for a 1 night stay. Walls may be a bit thin, but the beds were comfortable and we all slept well! Lovely people to check in with in the morning and they were already working on cleaning the rooms that had been checked out at 9am. If you are in Magog and need a place to lay your head this one is worth the $!…
Motel is conveniently located, walking distance to the center of Magog and accessible by foot in a short walk. Very clean room, well equipped with accessories. Reception very welcoming and very friendly staff. Highly recommended for quality / price ratio
This was the ideal stop off for us. The room was big, the bathroom was very clean, the staff were very friendly and it was only a 5 minute walk from the main street. Unfortunately we had a very loud neighbour who kept us awake but after banging on the wall, he silenced!! Apart from that, I couldn't fault our stay.
If you want a motel with modern sized rooms with large tvs (i.e., if you want Comfort Inn etc) then this place isn't for you. If you're looking for a roof and a bed and bathroom because most of your time is spent in town and not at or in the motel, then this place is well priced for exactly that.
well kept and groomed little motel. friendly and helpful welcome. spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. easy walking distance to the town center and restaurants on the river. magog surprises with its lake activites. great value!
Very clean motel in excellent location. Very friendly staff. I’d return. Front desk did not speak fluent English, but enough to communicate. I like the fact the rooms are not carpeted. Downtown zMagog easy walking distance.
The motel was a great deal. For the price, I did not have high expectations, but when I got to my room is was very clean, and I could tell the owners took care of the property. The room itself is on the smaller side, but its just a place for me to sleep so it worked perfectly. The location of the motel is a short walk to the city center, and a nearby park on the water. I spent my time hiking around Mount Orford, and the location was less than a 20 minute drive, which enabled me to spend my day hiking, and my night around town.
