Beautiful location with stunning scenery. Well-kept grounds and comfortable, well appointed rooms. Campbell River is a long drive up the island, but worth the effort once you get there. April Point across the water is more rustic, but very quiet and secluded.

Campbell River is a shorter and easier drive than other popular island destinations; Tofino and Ucluelet, with equally stunning mountains, coastline and forests. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you again. Sincerely, Dean Prentice General Manager, Painter’s Lodge

We got lucky here. Someone there screwed up the bookings and we arrived a day before they expected us. Not our mistake and with no rooms of the appropriate type available, we got a free upgrade. We had stayed in 11 establishments to this point but this one was the best. The rooms also had large balconies, we did not...

I am sorry to hear about the mix-up with your reservation but am pleased that the issue was dealt with quickly by our Front Desk and that you had a great stay. The light ocean breeze keeps the mosquitos away even during these recent warm evenings, and there really isn’t a better place to sit and watch the sunset. Thanks...

As a family holiday we enjoyed ourselves. The location was very quiet. The rooms were a bit hot as the weather was fantastic. Fans could have been on both levels of rooms. View was wonderful as we enjoyed breakfast which had great value. Ferry over to April point was a nice service. Dinner at April Point was too expensive. Would...

Painter’s Lodge is a favourite among families with many returning to us year after year. Our expansive grounds complete with pool and tennis courts mean there is plenty of space for outdoor play. Thanks for the review! Sincerely, Dean Prentice General Manager, Painter’s Lodge

This property may have had quite a reputation as a luxury resort at one time however it was not our experience. Perhaps the room prices (average $200+ per night) should have been a red flag, you get what you pay for? We stayed here this past week for 3 nights. Although dated (built in the ‘80s) our partial king room...

I am sorry to hear that your experiences did not meet your expectations of Painter’s Lodge. Situated in the ‘Salmon Capital of the World,’ the Lodge has developed a reputation as a world renowned fishing Lodge. We believe our pricing to be a fair reflection of the facilities and accommodation and competitive with comparable resorts. Your comments regarding this and...

Wonderful simi upscale fishing resort. This is a wonderful place for families to enjoy an outdoor wilderness vacation. It's know for its fishing, but a four hour guided trip will run you over $ 325.00. Personally I feel it's pricey as you only can get two catches per day. There sister lodge is more remote ,but just beautiful . The...

Thank you for this review. We try to keep our fishing pricing in-line with industry standards and we comply with the catch limits set by the BC Department of Fisheries & Oceans. While the Lodge is running at very high occupancy, I am afraid we cannot grant late checkout as the housekeeping crew require access to the rooms after 11am...

Make sure you feel comfortable with your fishing guide before setting off. We had a fishing guide who are not friendly to Asians. So we insisted on a change before heading out. The Marine Center was very fast in making a change.

I can assure you that prejudice is not tolerated at Painter’s Lodge and I am sorry if any behaviour from our Crew led you to that assumption. This matter has been dealt with, and we are very happy that you enjoyed your time and look forward to welcoming you back to the lodge in the future. Sincerely, Dean Prentice General...

I have stayed at the resort many times. My only problem is with reservations, this time we thought we had a reservation but didn't and were fortunate to get the last available room. It seems odd that one can not call the front desk and you can only speak to "reservations" during regular business hours.

I am very surprised to hear about the mix-up with (or lack of) your reservation. The local number for Painter’s Lodge is listed alongside our toll-free Sales line on our website. I am sorry that this was not clear to you and for any inconvenience it caused. For future reference the Reception line for Painter’s Lodge is: 1-250-286-1102. Sincerely, Dean...

Most impressed by the entire facility - the accommodations proved to be as equally inviting as the fishing experiences. The staff ensured that our needs were fully met such that check-out time proved to be extremely easy and thorough. The Marine Centre personnel and boat guides (big kudos to Mike Pearson for his diligence) were very careful to ensure that...

The restaurant was extremely slow in acknowledging us and 90 mins for breakfast, this happened twice so it wasn't a one off. Confusing on what was included in the brunch/buffet they should come to your table and tell you what is included so that you don't get hit with the 30.00 bill.

Thank you for your feedback. Your comments regarding air conditioning have been put forward for consideration for the next planned renovations and I thank you for raising the issue.
