The is a quaint and good place to stay that is a great place to see a historic city. The Stephenville area and Port-Au-Port peninsula (and city) are a good start to make you want to stay longer than planned at the hotel.

My hunting buddy and I stayed here for 4 nights in September. We were apprehensive at first as the reputation of the place was not great. We stayed in room 106 and we both found the hotel to be perfectly fine. The rooms were very clean, the sheets fresh were thick cotton and clean, towels the same, beds comfortable, lots...

Stayed here as a base for moose hunting. A fairly typical owner operated small lodge. No-frills but everything you really need. The only thing I did not like was the thin walls. There was a small but not noisy bar downstairs, the restaurant is now permanently closed. However there are lots of other restaurants in the area. Next time I...

Drove to Stephenville on a wet night after taking the ferry to Port-Aux-Basque. Pleasantly surprised to find such clean rooms - the building itself is outdated but the staff were friendly, it was a quiet location, and the clean rooms made up for anything it may have been lacking.

This place has potential but is lacking in a few areas. We planned 5 nights but left after 4. The efficiency unit was clean and large enough but not well maintained. Upon arrival the lights were burnt out in the entrance way/dining area. It was quickly repaired by maintenance who took the bulb from the stove and then another man...

Dear Bennetm581. First of all, thank you for your review. I like how you presented both the good and the bad. What you have described here is the typical hotel environment which at any given time is a mix of workers, sports teams, truckers, business people and tourists. I am very pleased that my staff compensated you for your discomfort...

The efficiency units were very spacious with very comfy beds. The kitchenette was small and outdated but was fine for what we needed. The on site restaurant had yummy food with huge portions for a great price. We are very pleased with our stay.

My now fiance and I decided to take a trip because he went to school in Stephenville we picked here because it was pretty cheap for our budget and we found that the days inn was way out of our price range. I.m sorry to say this was not a very good choice! For the momey charged this was a very dated and poorly maintained room. I stayed at the B building to have a smoking room room and it was very hot and musty smelling. My biggest concern however was the electrical as when I tried to turn the bedroom light...

Dear Stephen H. Thank you for your review. It is regretful that your experience at DCL was so poor and I agree the room you were in left a lot to be desired. The electrical issues in this room have been resolved and the room has been updated. Should you find yourself back this way and on our premises, ask...
