This hotel turned out to be a great discovery for our Winter escapades to Les Vosges. The hotel is mid way up in the Valley of Munster, close to the main attractions but outside the typical touristic concentrations, and manages to preserve a very nice mountain auberge style with ample rooms and a great family service. We especially enjoyed the...

The view from this hotel is tremendous. The staff are very attentive and speak good English. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The food is of a very good quality. This hotel is situated in a great location for exploring the Vosges.

I have to preface this by saying I have stayed in France many times at everything from gites to 3 star hotels. Roess has been my best experience at a hotel in France, and this I do not say lightly. I elected the half board so had breakfast and dinner each night, and it was of a quality that I...

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel up on the hill, run by the couple who owns it. The room and the bathroom was big enough for a family of three (1 year old baby), and it was very clean! The view which is the valley of Munster, and I believe all the rooms were facing it, was wonderful,...

Fantastic hotel, owners and food. Out of our 12 days travelling around Europe this was our favourite hotel. Spectacular views and lovely clean rooms. Been in the same family since 1888. Very poignant to see where one of Lancasters crashed just above the hotel in 1944 Very sad killing all the crew. Great central location to explore this lovely area.

Situated at 750 meters in a green and quiet area. The view from the windows is fantastic. Rooms are simple but comfortable and very clean. We took half board and were very happy: though there is no choice on the fixed menu, dishes are very well prepared and change every day. Staff are polite and discreet, never pushing. Hotel is...

Stayed at this hotel on route to Italy. The location couldn't have been better with breath taking views across the valley. Stayed on half board basis which worked well although found the evening meal was a little disappointing and somewhat rushed.

A well-appointed and well-cared for hotel high on the side of a very steep valley. Because of its location, far from alternative restaurants, we opted for half-board. The set menu was very satisfactory and wines were good and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient.

High in the Alsace above Munster. We were fortunate getting the last available room. We agreed to do a half board package for one night. The room was probably the best equipped we have ever stayed in. The bathroom was refurbished in March with top quality fittings, furnishings and tiles. The bed was super, a double with two separate mattresses....
