I'm rating this poor due to the terrible service. We went here for dinner last night. Waited a while for menus before eventually giving up and going up to the bar to get them ourselves. Then we had to go back up to the bar to place our order. We were asked to pay upfront as we weren't staying at... More

Monkey Island hosts a great collection of Bungalows right on the beach on the island of Koh Rong, situated a short walk from the action at night in the bars in the village yet still far enough away for some peace and quiet on the beach. Great for families and couples, and also for groups of backpackers looking for a... More

Stayed in Monkey Island for 2 nights, should've stayed at least a day longer. It's located about 5 minutes away from the main town which is good because you're away from the noise, but still close by. It's a little bit of a struggle carrying bags from the ferry to the bungalow since you have to walk/drag through the sand.... More

- Staff are really nice - Food is quite good + big portions - location on beach is pretty good - easy walk to/from boats BUT: - everyone gets bitten by bed bugs! - terrible pillows - super hard mattresses (even by s.e Asian standards) - pretty crappy bathrooms (dark, wet, smelly, toilets easily block) All in all, pretty basic... We stayed three nights in a private bungalow at monkey island and were not impressed not disappointed. The rooms are average kind of boarding on low end with lots of holes in our walls in the bathroom. We were expecting this though and were not upset, we had decent mosquito nets and a good lock box for our valuables. I... More

Sadly me and my partner didn't stay here but we did eat and drink here everyday, what a awesome chilled environment. The food is banging, great music, great people. The drinks are strong not watered down crap like you get in some of the other bars. Paddy the owner is the coolest nicest guy you could meet, and he's from... More

The staff are really great and the bungalows are clean (but basic) with great location on the beach and 5 minute walk from the main part of Koh Rong. The best option for travelers wanting to stay close to the parties in a social place but being in a cool beach hut as opposed to a dorm. They also do... More

The hostel is situated on the main beach of Koh Rong, but far enough away from the bars and mayhem, it feels like a world away. The restaurant/hangout area is very big but inviting and they're always playing great music that fits the time of day and general mood. Food is awesome too! The bungalows were good, we were three... The rooms were damp and the bed sheets smelt as if they had not been washed for a while. Suspicious stains on pillows also. Beds were almost greasy & the fans in the room did not suffice. Bar is good, food is also decent & location is good. Wildlife present also. A 9 inch lizard and 2 mice treated us... More

We were 3 friends and we shared a bungalow on the beach. It wasn't expensive (5$ Each). The staff is Nice and the food is really good. The music that they play is awesome, it's not that pop/electro/new age music, which is great. It's lovely and has a nice view of the ocean :)
