(Note - we did not stay in the hotel, but did visit twice for meals) Visited twice in a week. Our lunch visit was good. 3 of us had the Ploughman's Platter... a good dish. Only criticism there was that the portions varied WILDLY in size. (Don't get me wrong, they were all OK.... but some were MUCH bigger than...

Beautiful village and fabulous pub with a very welcoming host, great food and lovely atmosphere. We had room 9 which was great but unfortunately very noisy all night. Not much sleep as there was a constant droning noise like a loud fan which just did not stop. Sorry to say it would put us off staying again which is a...

The only pub/restaurant in the village, but it doesn't stop them maintaining the highest standards. The beer is excellent.... Food super and great service. Only slight concern is that you may trip over the packed lunch sandwiches and break an ankle!!!😂😂👍

This really is a good pub, with friendly, helpful staff, sociable locals and a good choice of real ale. Add to that clean, comfortable rooms and excellent food with a good choice of menu and you have a perfect mix. Recommended!

I stayed in The Forresters Arms with friends having walked from Helmsley. The pub is very dog friendly with a number of rooms available to while away a good pint in comfort. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was large enough with a welcoming bath after a days walking. As it was Sunday the dinner menu...

A super weekend stay here, in an amazing village with lovely walking and an historic Norman church and amazing Mouseman's museum just across the road. Our room wasn't huge, but fine - and we very much enjoyed the friendliness of some wonderful regulars in the bar, who made us very welcome. Breakfast is brisk, and quickly cleared away - however...

We all ate and I had the special, pan fried salmon, SO delicious! Everyone else enjoyed their meals too. The staff were so friendly and the service was just...
