Loved this hotelito It was extremely clean, friendly staff and great rustic breakfast. We enjoyed the pool during the day and the amazing choice of restaurants in the village. We had sea and mountain views from our balcony. We would stay again for sure

This small hotel (about 8 rooms) is family run and very appealing. The rooms open out to a pool/patio area with views of the sea. Our room was simply furnished but large, as was the bathroom. Very large, comfortable bed. The breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice and something different appears every day. There are cereals, eggs in various styles, meat, cheese, pastries, a lovely selection of breads and fresh fruit. The orange juice is a bit thin. There are more restaurants within walking distance than one can visit in a week. Our only slight niggles were with the occasionally flaky wifi and lack of TV stations other than German. Overall though, a really super place and incredibly good value.

As far as I am aware, Hotelito del Golfo is the only accommodation available in the cute village of El Golfo. This is a boutique hotel which, as you would expect, has limited facilities but, even so, offers a bijou swimming pool which looked clean and well-tended. The room was clean and had clearly been recently refurbished and so everything was fresh. However, I have to say that, overall, we were disappointed. The breakfast was basic, with cheap orange juice and poor quality meat and cheese. There was no supply of cold milk and the person looking after the breakfast was more distracted by his mobile phone than ensuring the comfort of his guests. Frequently, he just wasn't there when one needed something. Perhaps because he wasn't concentrating, he met my request for milk by pouring hot milk over my cereal which, of course, rendered it inedible. The coffee served must rank as one of the worst on the island. Of an evening, there was no one on duty (which is fair enough in a small hotel) but the area in front of the hotel was dark and though there were lights embedded in the steps, they were either not working or no one thought to put them on. The room was ok, if a little cramped, but the bed was made of cheap foam and the pillow so flimsy that I managed to acquire a headache. The fridge was not working and there was no obvious way to turn it on. I managed to get about 1 channel from the tv. Perhaps the biggest complaint is room servicing on Sundays. Yes, we were told at check-in that this was the maid's day off but given that, like everywhere on Lanzarote, toilet paper is put in a bin, was it too much of an indignity for the man attending the breakfast to, at least empty the bins of day old used toilet paper? The hotel had the feel of somewhere that was somebody's hobby rather than their pride and joy and was born out by a check-out which did not include the customary "was everything ok" type of question. I doubt there are better places to stay in El Golfo but Hotelito del Golfo could certainly do better.

Response from Hotelito d, Propietario at Hotelito del Golfo

We respect your opinion but we have other customers who think the opposite of breakfast. It just had to order the cold milk and we served it, that simple. It is a small hotel, so the person who serves breakfast also deals with the issue of hotel reservations, so look at the mobile and the computer, I do not think that is a problem for you. As for coffee, there are many tastes for many people, me and other customers love this coffee. As for the bed and the pillow, for their taste they would be of poor quality, but it is not so ... everything is completely new, if we had said that I wanted a harder pillow, we would have given it without problem. The same with the fridge and television, if I did not understand how to turn it on, I would have communicated it at reception. All your comment is exaggeratedly taken out of context. It is a pity that you says it all by an internet comment and not in person, in this way we could not help him, however if he had said it in the hotel he would have fixed it at the moment.

The hotel is an oasis of peace and tranquility within the very busy tourist location of El Golfo. Marta who looks after the place is a very helpful and friendly person which adds to the pleasure of staying there. Our room was bright and clean with a comfortable bed with a modern bathroom. The accommodation is bed and breakfast with a simple but ample breakfast being served on a self service basis. Other meals need to be eaten within the vast number of restaurants all within easy walking distance. My only criticism being I would liked to have had a kettle in the room to facilitate making hot drinks. All in all an enjoyable stay. thankyou Marta.

Good location in the edge of the village, a few minutes walk from the iconic green lagoon or to a variety of cafes and restaurants. It has its own car park, pool and sun terrace. Our first floor room was up a flight of steps, which was a challenge after a six-mile hike up the side of a volcanic caldera! The room’s balcony offered great views out to sea and the sunset, plus at night a wonderful star display (slightly spoilt by the very strong street lights) breakfast was simple cereal, cheeses breads and fruit, with hot dishes on request. The owner was very welcoming.
