We spent three days over Christmas at Castlehill Lodge and simply fell in love with the place. It's a very cosy B&B that makes you feel home away from home; comfy rooms, a nice communal area and a lovely outdoor area and some very friendly farm animals plus Barkley, their adorable Labrador - exactly right to wind down and relax.... Mark and Sharon are wonderful hosts, and Barclay the dog helped us miss our dog less! Comfy rooms and lounge, great food, beautiful star gazing, quiet picturesque rural setting. We only stayed one night but would return again and would definitely recommend to others.

We chose Castle Hill Lodge as a nice stopover to break up our trip south and were just blown away by the delightful atmosphere and the genuine warmth and friendliness of our hosts Mark and Sharon. We stayed in the England Room which was exceptionally well appointed, very warm and cosy with a wonderfully comfortable bed. We opted for the... More

One of the nicest B&B experiences to be found anywhere in the world. Accommodations, meals, setting and most importantly, the hosts. Mark and Sharon are an amazing couple that are delight to get to know and spend time with when you are not out exploring the countryside. My visit was part of a quest to find some elusive New Zealand... More

Was stopped for speeding by a local Cop who advised me to find local accomodation instead of travelling another couple of hours to Queenstown (8pm at night when I was stopped) and Castle Hill Lodge was the first property I liked the look of. What a find! Very well appointed property with a very tastefully styled bedroom and ensuite for... More

Spent one night here in December 2013 and loved it. Organised the same day as a last minute thing and very happy to have chosen Castle Hill Lodge. Curry dinner was great, as was the room, guest lounge. The surroundings are wonderful. The animals are an excellent bonus. Would definately stay here again. Thanks.

Spent three nights with Sharon and Mark over New Year’s – found this by default since everything was booked in Queenstown, and could not have been happier. As someone else stated – this, too, was our favorite place we stayed at over our three-week stay in Oz/Nz. Close enough to Queenstown to spend multiple days in the city, and only... More
