The room was only 41 quid a night so in a way i cant really grumble, but the bed is a single - i think- it could be even small than that, i had to put the mattress on the floor to negate the risk of falling out of bed, that’s not because I’m clumsy its just the bed is narrower than i am. The occupant of the room below was smoking cannabis all night, the smell was awful and could be detected even with the window closed. I mentioned this to the receptionist who said they would look into it but evidently didn’t. The food was cooked on a room service basis, i ate on my 1st night but the extortionate price put me off eating again. The food was tasty but not plentiful, the menu is okay but as i said the prices are way to steep. Be warned the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, i nearly turned back as i thought that no hotel could be this far down a narrow single track road best suited to 4x4s and tractors. My Mercedes is not designed for such roads/tracks. The thing is you will need your car to get anywhere walking to any kind of shop is just not practical not to mention dangerous.. on the upside the WiFi works well. In summary if you just want shelter then 41 quid is probably right, if you are looking for comfort and local amenities you are going to be disappointed, the money I’ve saved on the room will now have to be spent on a chiropractor when i get home. I very nearly dragged my blankets to my car to sleep in the back of it, i cant remember being more uncomfortable. This was a single room for 2 nights. There may be better luxury rooms available, my review is just my findings of the room i had.

I had booked this hotel for the night before our early flight and to leave our car whilst we were away. After struggling around the whole building with our cases as the back door was locked, there was no receptionist. When she did arrive she didn’t know how far away the airport was after asking what time we’d like to book our taxi, this being advertised as an airport hotel, by the very least I’d expect the staff to know how long it takes to get there!! We were then told our room had been upgraded to a ‘deluxe’ room, which was up two flights of narrow steep stairs with no lift available. This left my partner to struggle with 2 15KG bags as I am pregnant. After getting to our room, there was clutter from the ‘art room’ in the corridor and we could hear everything from other rooms. It’s safe to say we’re concerned what a normal room is like if this was a ‘deluxe’, none of the furniture matched, the bed looked like it was from a charity shop and there looked to be a bedside table missing, not to mention the state of the ceiling. I had a look online to double check I wasn’t deluded when booking and the pictures look nothing like the room. We seemed to be in the middle of the building works, even though there was no one working at the time we were there, what I can only assume as was tarpaulin, was constantly crunching and making a noise. I barely had an hours sleep by the time we had to get up for our flight, I’d have been better off driving straight to the airport from my house 2 hours away. The only thing I can be positive about is the taxi service from the hotel and returning, they were booked at the right time and our car was untouched whilst we were away. The airport is about 10 minutes. It’s safe to say I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or be booking it again.

I stayed at Winford Manor for 6 days during October 2020. I was hoping for an opportunity to catch up with some business and writing in a restful atmosphere. Unfortunately I was deeply disappointed. There were roof repairs going on throughout the week and while I appreciate that such things are essential, there should have been some warning. When I booked, there was no information about ongoing building work and I would certainly have booked another hotel had I known. I specifically asked for a quiet room but in fact got one just beneath the main building work and the constant hammering, drilling and loud music from 8 am was unbearable. I needed to remove myself rom my room as soon as the builders arrived because the noise was so intolerable and I stayed out all day to avoid it. Some members of staff were sympathetic but one was quite "smirky" and seemed to take pleasure in telling me there was nothing she could do. Overall, this was a pretty bad experience.

I would highly recommend booking a Deluxe or Superior room for a few pounds more as they are so spacious! However, I have also stayed in a standard double and was over the moon with that too. Always excellent value for money and the staff are extremely attentive. Outstanding Value!
