The campground offers a huge site with fire pit and BBQ.
There are many shops near by and the site is within a 5min walk of the lake.
The toilets and showers are good for a campground and all for a really great price.
We stayed here with our travel trailer and friends who were in tents. We loved it! The sites were spacious and flat with beautiful trees. The restrooms were well taken care of. The campground was very quiet and seemed like a good, respectful group of...More
I must start with an admission...I can not comment on cost of this camp ground as we were guest. And it is only fair that I make it clear that I am not a camping kind of person. Now that we have that out of...More
My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights during our Road Trip through Lake Tahoe. We stayed in a Tent Cabin, #3-"Gentle Jeffrey". A few things about the tent cabin section is that they are close to each other (we had cool neighbors so...More
We stayed here without a reservation in June. We could walk across the street to the lake and we also walked to a restaurant. Lake Tahoe will be busy and noisy even in the winter. The restrooms are rather gross.

I stayed there 6 mos. ago and drove by first, then was told I had to book a site online. The campground is large and has many sections. Some have water and electric, some are primitive. I was tent camping and booked a site near the bathroom and a water spigot, so it was more convenient. I cannot recall the reservation process, but I do remember paying $36 and they took a deposit on my credit card. I stayed to the left of the office, section F. If you can see the map, pick whatever meets your needs. I selected each one to view them all. The map was accurate. Almost all sites were good. You just need to reserve one. I stayed end of June and it was almost full so I'm glad I got any spot. It's run by the city, so not a private park, but covered in large pine trees, so it feels like a bit of nature. Access to everything is good too. I stayed 2 nights and enjoyed hiking, walking the beach and the nearby restaurants. Good luck!

I've never heard of 'day camping', but there is a library on the east side of the campground with a free parking lot for day parking. There is also a lakeside park with a parking lot about a mile north and west of the campground, also free. The casinos probably wouldn't care if you parked and opened up your awning and chairs, for free. Sorry, but you might need to call the campground for more specifics.
