We have been traveling to this little gem of a motel for over six years. We use this as our home base for South Lake Tahoe fun with friends. They has gas barbeques you can utilize a heated pool and it literally across the street from Harveys. New managers Sunny and Tom are great! They will do anything they can... More

Stayed here 2 nights in July 2011. From the start it was a great stay. Office is open 8am to 10pm. Arrived after midnight with no hotel reservation and 2 kids. Unfortunately, I booked at Harrah's in Reno instead of Lake Tahoe (I still don't know how I did that as I am pretty internet RSVP savvy - I do... More

It was a lot of fun! I went alone and stayed the night of the Sound garden, which was very close by. I noticed commotion, and the managers had done well at handling the situation. The night was fine overall, and the water was great! It was nice having coffee with the view of the mountain face right outside!

I made the mistake of not reading enough reviews before reserving a room at this hotel. Upon arriving, my group noted it was excessively musty, a front window had a crack in it, there was a brown substance on the outside of the bathroom door, and one of the beds was leaning somewhat at an angle. We should have realized... More

i would just like to tell everyone that our stay at the capri motel in lake tahoe was very relaxing and that the managers, Sonny and Tom Ostlund were so great and really made our stay so enjoyable. When we came into town we stayed at a different hotel. They were not very friendly or helpful. We went looking elsewhere,... More

Our family has stayed in the Capri for 25 years. After our visit in Aug 2009 we would never stay there again due to the sleezy manager. We were there for many years with Lee who was the greatest. In 2009 what the manager did best was make out with her boyfriend in the parking lot and allow her kids... More

I had the very good fortune to stay at the Capri when skiing one weekend with friends. It was quiet, cozy, clean, and very reasonable. Found the bed very comfortable, plenty of blankets, good mattress and pillows, and the room was well stocked with towels too. Loved that there was plenty of hot water too (very important at end of... You can't beat the value of the Capri Hotel. I've been going there when I ski for about three years now. Yes there are places that are more fancy but the Capri is clean, the folks that run it are awesome and you can't beat the location. Walk to the casino's and the Gondola and leave your car behind. As... More

We arrived Saturday night not sure we were going to stay or keep driving....we should have kept driving! The Capri has these pluses: location is across the street from the back entrance to Harvey's, it has curb appeal, it is clean but one of our rooms had a musty odor. It does have dated decor, but I personally found the... More

Dear Guest, We are once again under new management and I hope to improve on the problems that you have pointed out to us. “Ask for one that has working heat as they all apparently do not.”

“I asked for a 2nd floor quiet room and was given an end room on the Cedar Ave. side of the motel. Nice to only have one shared wall, but the room was directly above the dumpster for the property and the neighboring property so that led to lots of clanging and banging. Cedar Ave. is also the main thoroughfare for people walking from neighboring motels to the strip casinos, so be prepared to have people looking into your room. (can't remember now if it was Rm. #18 or 19, but either would have the same problems)”

“The rooms on the second story facing the street have a nice view of the many horse drawn carts that regularly go up and down the street. You can hear different languages being spoken by the many people who walk to and from the beach as they walk on the street below.”
