We aim to offer a spotlessly clean environment and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The building has stood here for 500 years offering the traveller and visitor a relaxed and cozy welcome. It is extremely spacious and comfortable, helping us to create a great feeling of warmth and well being. We want you to relax in the cozy and welcoming surroundings of this charming family-run inn. We aim to achieve a warmth and quiet courtesy about the place that combines friendly and attentive service with a warm welcome.

Lovely hosts, very comfortable rooms, very tolerant of city folk flying in for a hiking weekend with no clue. Food was amazing and all local. Played board games (our own) in the bar all night - much to our hosts amusement. I think they thought we’d be more rock and roll :) Definitely recommend :)

Delightful and quirky hotel which fuses old and modern styles nicely. Hosts are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are well maintained. Lovely garden area. Food was excellent. Wonderful location for access to the Wye River and nearby Hay on Wye. Do check out the 'magical' Guinness!

My best friend and I stayed for a night for this year’s hay festival and everything about this place is lovely! It is spotlessly clean and the breakfast is beautiful - lots of it and lots of choices, all served with a personal touch.

We were looking for somewhere to stay near Builth Wells for our stay whilst visiting the Royal Welsh Winter Fair. What a great find! Reasonable price. Great restaurant. Warm and spotlessly clean. We had to leave early but they provided great bacon sandwiches instead of breakfast! We will be back!

We stayed for two days/nights in this bautiful, old property...so overwhelming caracter of old times and modern comfort. The diner , both evenings, was perfect with a wilde choice possible. Very kind owners, wide rooms with a modern bathroom...absolutely a must to stay here in your journey through Wales .

My husband wanted to go to the Black Mountains, I wanted to visit the Brecon Beacons and this was smack bang in the middle of everything.... Perfect! It's a beautiful building, lovely hosts, Roy is very friendly and welcoming. We stayed for 3 nights, the breakfasts were very good and the evening meal we had on the first night was beautiful. There is a guest lounge with television and DVD so nothing in the room other than the tea and coffee tray. The only real negative was the bed, I suffer with my back and it creaked with every single movement so I did not sleep well, the floors in our room were also very creaky but it is an old house! The hotel is perfectly placed to see lots in the area... We went on the mountain railway, visited Brecon, Hay on Wye, Hereford and Hampton Court…

We have now stayed here three times and each visit has been memorable. This time we stayed for two nights including dinner which was as excellent as ever. A very good choice of food both for dinner and breakfast. Roy and Judith are very attentive and nothing is too much for them. Also, very importantly, the beds are extremely comfortable.

Lovely clean place. Lovely food. Odd place to stay. Roy the owner pops up everywhere! You feel like you're being followed! Sensors everywhere so they know where you are. Also front door locked so passing trade can't come in. All a bit odd.

Response from RalphBrecon, Owner at The Three Cocks Hotel

Dear Who ever you are, I have no idea what your talking about. I'm not in the business of following anybody and sensors! what sensors. The front door may have been shut when you arrived as you give no indication who you and when you stayed can't explain why the door may have been shut momentary. If you can't give informed reviews it's better you say nothing.

We had a 3 night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Room comfortable and clean. Cooked breakfasts excellent. Lamb for dinner top of the flock. Looking forward to revisit - hopefully in the not too distant future.
