Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked through booking.com and after the booking we were requested to pay 50% in advance by Western Union to confirm our booking. We were in contact by what's app and email contact about the transfer with Cocoblanco (Manuel) and got immediate reaction that our money was received. After that it became silent, and contact was not possible anymore (we requested to know the pick up time and location since we also paid for transport services but never received any answers). Email bounced back and what's app was never read by Cocoblanco organization. Now we had to cancel the booking because of personal reasons. We requested to get the money back (minus the cancellation fee). Again no contact is possible and booking.com does also not help or respond to our support request. Donot book through booking.com, we lost 660 USD (with 400 USD as cancellation fee)! We are wondering if this is a scam....

We selected Cabanas Coco Blanco through Panama Travel Unlimited- Day Tours for a two day, one night stay. While the website did seem more glamorous (probably older photos), the actual accommodations were a bit more aged than expected. The boat ride was anything short of fancy, and the food served was not gourmet. The bathrooms "with running water" may fall a bit short of expectation (you have to let them know when you are ready to shower and they turn on the hot water) and I don't even think the toilet flushed.... However, it is definitely a life changing experience! Let's be honest, you selected this excursion for the sunshine, clear waters and sandy beach! And on that note, it definitely delivers! Seeing the Kuna Yala people and meeting the family that serves you is a cultural experience in itself. We were actually stuck in a thunderstorm overnight which made the experience exhilarating in a different way! It definitely is a life changing experience and I highly recommend it! Perhaps you may want to look into other islands/hotels but from what I heard or saw they are not much different across each island.... Take the plunge and go!

The island is one of the most beautiful places in the world . Getting there isn't cheap but worth it . The road to san blas is difficult by car so it is most recommended to travel there by plane . On the island there is a worm family providing you fresh food three times a day Must see attraction

With a group of 5 other friends we planned to stay some days there. We rented 3 private cabanas with private bathrooms. We were told by the travel agency they had water and electricity worked every day after 6 pm. None of that was true. Actually only one day they worked. The rest we had to bath in the sea and use buckets with sea water every time we used the bathrooms (if we can say these were toilets). Food was basic. No fruits and wait a lot for the dishes arrive. The area were we eat was destroyed and every time it rained raindrops in our meals. The only thing I can rate as fabulous was the scenery. Paradise islands. The infrastructure needs to be repaired urgently. Pictures talk by themselves.

The island cabanas need refurbishing, the bathroom is dirty, you have to bring the sea water by yourself to flush the toilet. For a such small island, the agencies bring to much people. Most of them are there for a day, and in case of rain they have to hide under others people cabanas. The food is simple: rice, piece of fish and some salad. There is lot of dirt laying evrywhere around, nobody is taking care of it. We had a trip to the other island, it was much cleaner and mire pleasant. Anyway, the sea is clean and warm, and if you have nice weather, it can be nice.

A big thanks to Brandon, Jerry, Trevor and the Kunas for their hospitality. We had an AMAZING time on the island. Life was simple, good food, nice guides (we had a lot of information about the Kuna's culture). That stop worth way more than the money we paid for. 💕🌴💕

We stayed at Coco Blanco for two nights in January 2016. It was the most amazing thing we did in our four months trip to Central America. The islands are beautiful and the sea is crystal clear. The cabins are simple, we ate the catch of the day every night and upon request they made vegetarian dinner. Our host, Betzander, was great and provided us with plenty of information and took us on a snorkeling tour where we saw colourful fish and stingrays. We look forward to come back someday! Alda & Ola

The island is beautiful, like what you would see in movies. The experience was nice but must be forewarned it is rustic. The 4X4 picks you up from your hotel (they say between 5-5:30am but ends up being closer to 6:30). You will ride with other passengers going to the islands for a few hours through a bumpy mountain road- they will stop at a grocery store for you to quickly grab essentials (MUST BRING: water bottles, snacks, alcohol, sunblock, bug spray, flashlights or flameless candles). The car ride takes about 3 hrs. Once you arrive at the docks the kuna yala will bring you to the island (a speed boat ride for an hour, you will get wet!). Once you are on the island they will show you the hut, which is clean with private bathroom- running water only during a portion of the day and electricity (one light bulb per room) goes out by 10pm. Night sky there is amazing, can see every star. They cook 3 meals a day for you (lunch and dinner is fresh fish with rice usually, scrambled eggs for breakfast). They will take you to another island once per day, have a few extra snorkel gear if interested in borrowing). Nelson the owner was very welcoming and informative. Overall experience was great, island is beautiful and safe. Just know this isn't a place with AC, constant running water so don't come in with those types of expectations. It's a place to play in the water, lay in a hammock reading a book and to spend quality time with your travel mates.

What at great experience! From the moment we hopped off the Casa Blanco shuttle boat to the return trip it was wonderful. Nelson, our host, was terrific! We went on snorkeling adventures and had wonderful fresh fish meals! The Kuna's are super friendly and very accommodating. Casa Blanco should be on everyone's list of things to do and enjoy in 2016!

We had a beautiful weather so I dont know how is there when it rains a lot. Water is clear, food is simple (fishe) but very good. In cabanas there are beds and the toilets (don't know if all of them have a toilet but there are also 'public' toilets as well). You can make a boat trip to other islands which I definitely recommend. And for the rest of the day just enjoy a peace during the day, and an AMAZING sky during the cloudless night. Of course forget about aircondition, fans or TV.
