Big big disappointment! Management was super rude before arrival. They tried charging us 3 different prices for transfer to the island. Apparently management is from Greece and they wanted to charge the transfer only in fixed euros. By law, they are actually obliged to charge in Indonesian Rupiah but when asked to do so they just adjusted prices to the exchange rate which makes it absurd expensive in local terms. Had a discussion over the phone on the day of arrival and they didn't shy away from calling us names. Really unacceptable and inappropriate! Upon arrival we had a warm welcome by the staff. Everyone is very friendly and the infrastructure of the resort is excellent. I had a serious talk with the manager about what happened before and he was very friendly afterwards.

We stayed 3 nights at Seraya which is just a short boat ride from Labuan Bajo. The cottages there are right on the beach and probably some of the best you will find in Indonesia. Really clean and nice and they all have a great feature: A small handshower next to the stairs so you can wash off your feet before entering. At high tide you can swim right from the sandy beach, at low tide you swim from the pier. From the pier you will find excellent snorkeling. Really. By the stairs at the pier there is usually some tiger fish waiting. Everything in the cottages work really well and when we were then Yannis, the Greek owner was taking care of things. He is very personable and seems to be doing everything all the time. Great guy. Seraya has a great water policy: No plastic

It's pretty simple: if you end up anywhere near the Seraya Hotel you'd be a fool for not spending at least a couple of days there. We loved our stay there: simply doing nothing, taking in the view, swimming, getting massaged, snorkeling, and just relaxing - great food, very attentive staff and lovely food!

After travelling around Bali for a couple of weeks we (a family of 4 adults) decided we also wanted to see the dragons at either Rinca or Komodo Island and arranged flights over to Labuan Bajo giving us time for a 3 night stay on Flores. Looking for suitable accommodation in Labuan Bajo we stumbled across the Seraya Resort and noticed they did direct trips to see the dragons either in the slow boat or their own speedboat. This seemed like an opportunity not to be missed as it took away the hassle and worry of trying to book a dragon trip at Labuan Bajo harbour - something that we'd read in itself can be challenging. The Seraya arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and we were quickly transferred via boat - when I say 'quickly' the boat took about 45 minutes but the

We stayed in a beach front bungalow, and it was amazing. The rooms are quite small (but nice and clean), however it really is somewhere to sleep. There is a little veranda off each bungalow with two beach chairs. Seraya Island is what honeymoon fantasies are made of. White sand beaches and turquoise crystal-clear water. You'll find here also top-notch snorkeling. Unfortunately it is pity that they can't make good cocktails here, they tasted rubbish and they tasted like they forgot some ingredients. Go and eat by all means, but if you want a cocktail ask if there is someone there that knows how to make them.
