Slightly confused by the 1 star review below. Living in London makes visiting slightly difficult but we managed to go back for a lovely Sunday lunch a few weeks ago. Sat out in the garden and had two fantastic plates of food - pork croquettes to start and lamb for mains. Nothing but excellent - lamb was pink, served with...

Having camped at Wowo for the weekend our group of 14 adults and 17 kids had booked our lunch at the Rose and Crown for 1pm, pre ordered but not paid for. The welcome was lovely and the first to arrive was given a 'Hurrah'. We had tables waiting outside for us, reserved and glasses and water brought to us...

Just had a superb sunday lunch. Excellent rare beef. Faultless service and in the most stylish and elegant pub garden. Oh, and the most delicious Mediterranean cheesecake with thyme, honey and marmalade. Glowing with happiness!

If you're looking for a warm, cosy, welcoming, old, comfortably tasteful establishment and to feel really welcomed.. this is the place! Three of us met here for lunch and immediately received a lovely welcome from the owner's daughter. We marvelled at the decor and cosiness of the place. At our request, we were shown the wonderful old room (12th century!)...
