My partner and I stumbled across this gem whilst driving around looking for a place to stop for lunch to celebrate his birthday, we were not disappointed. The carpark being full and a 30 minute wait shows it's popularity. It was worth the wait! We had drinks, main courses and shared a dessert. I cannot fault it, the food was gorgeous and reasonably priced. The staff were lovely too, they all had fantastic rapport with every customer. I was very impressed by the immaculately cleaned toilets and the l'Occitane products available for use. We're looking to book in for an over night stay later in the year as so impressed by the ambience. Thank you for making my partners 30th birthday celebration so great.
We have just returned from a couples night out. The food and accommodation were exclusive. We had a superior room which had it's own balcony, and enjoyed the sunshine yesterday afternoon. The food last night and this morning was tasty, faultless and plentiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The pub/hotel is very dog friendly, it is a shame that our dogs are probably not very pub friendly! It was a wonderful experience and will be returning
We stayed at The Bell in 2018 and fell in love with it, the hotel was immaculate and quirky, the pub cosy and the restaurant area felt like a fine dining restaurant. So after my husband and I got married we decided to book The Bell for 2 nights straight after our wedding for our mini moon. I had emailed the hotel in advance to let them know we were coming to celebrate our mini moon so the check in name could be changed. We arrived, checked in and quickly realised this was not The Bell we once knew and loved. We arrived at our room (Three) to find the door looking battered with paint peeling off. Inside the room the window sill was black rotten and the latch had fallen off due to the rot. There was patches of paint missing in the bathrooms. There is an ikea looking clothes stand to hang your clothes - no wardrobes. Given that I had told The Bell we had selected their hotel to celebrate our mini moon I had expected there to be a note in the room saying Congratulations at the very minimum. I am aware The Bell has been taken over and ‘renovated’ but the rooms have only had a lick of paint and walls knocked down in the pub which makes it feel nothing more than a Harvester. The restaurant menu has 16 mains, one vegetarian and one vegan. As a vegetarian I had 2 options for a 2 night stay and they were boring options at that, however, night one I opted for the pumpkin tortellini. I have never tasted anything so disgusting in my life. It looked lifeless, tasted of the worst pumpkin soup and the tortellini was like thick glue. Sent it back and was offered the other vege option on the menu but refused as based on that meal alone I will never eat at The Bell again. When I complained I was asked if we had prepaid through Booking.com - this to me speaks volumes. Cancelled our table reservation for the second evening and ate elsewhere early evening and then just had cheese and biscuits in the bar at The Bell later on. To compensate for all of this our room rate was reduced which was appreciated but doesn’t compensate for our mini moon being ruined by this run down hotel. Never again.…
We spent a night here to visit Stratford since with a car it was a good location. Plenty of parking and ten minutes to the town where parking for a few hours is reasonable. Our room was large and beautifully furnished with a comfy bed, luxurious towels and super L’ Ocitane toiletries. Breakfast was excellent and our evening meal delicious with lots of choices. Nice friendly staff and a very relaxing stay.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel, enjoying the beautiful room and having a lovely breakfast each morning. If we were ever returning to this area, we’d definitely stay here again. Staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
Excellent location near to Stratford upon Avon. The Restaurant has an excellent spacious car park. Recently modernised / refurbished the Bell cooks delicious food from a good menu. Wine list and beer selection is comprehensive. The staff are attentive and efficient. My wife opted for the Chicken Pie and I had Haunch of Venison. Both meals cooked to perfection. On warm days you can eat and drink on the terrace. Highly recommended
All our bedrooms were beautiful, spotlessly clean with super comfy beds and beautiful bed linen. We picked this pub because the menu had such a good gluten free menu for our coeliac granddaughter. The evening meal was excellent and met all our expectations with superbly attentive and professional staff. The breakfast menu was also excellent apart from the coeliac aspect with no gluten free cereal . This did not cause upset as we are always prepared with cereal with us but was a little disappointing . Staff at the Bell should be commended for their friendly professional service . Thank you
Amazing place to stay, eat and drink. Izzy is perfect. The breakfast and evening meals were 5 star quality. I thoroughly recommend staying here if visiting Stratford upon Avon or Caffeine and Machine events.
Lovely place to stay and eat the best breakfast I have had in a long time. The location is ideal and the rooms are beautiful and very clean. From arrival I was very impressed with izzy her customer service was excellent and she went the extra mile.
