My ninety-four year old mother-in-law rates this her favourite eatery! It really is very good - kind welcome, delightful surroundings and fine food. Lunch is a good time to go, when it is quiet. Home cooking is the norm.

After reading good reviews we thought we'd try it. Especially as they allow dogs in. The place itself is nice. Quaint. Staff friendly. Food was a bit disappointing. I had the carrot soup which was very heavy with pepper but no taste. Chicken dinner. Strange sweet gravy but plenty of it. Hubby had the stroganoff and he said it was...

If you want country, this is country. Right off the main roads, no traffic lights or roundabouts, just cattle grids and free roaming sheep. Hotel / pub was fab. Great night sleep with window wide open to suck up all the clean air. Nice room. Food is good honest pub grub washed down with a nice pint and some banter...

Our stay at this 4* B&B was 5* with a 5* ambience and staff. The breakfast was exceptional and much on offer. Lunches and evening meals also exceptional and be prepared for the Yorkshire portions!! Staff very friendly and offered advice if asked. This was our first visit to The Yorkshire Moors and could not have picked a more picturesque...

Stayed here with my husband as an early birthday treat. Lovely relaxed country pub, very friendly and attentive staff. Stayed in a superior room, very comfortable and clean with stunning views of the local countryside. The evening meal was fairly good, although the vegetables and chips accompanying the main courses could have been better. We just about managed 3 courses...

The inn is situated near the lovely village of Danby and has wonderful views over the North Yorkshire moors. The bedroom facilities were nice and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The standard menu choice was predominantly English, with various meat dish selections such as Sirloin Steak, , Pork fillet, Lamb Shank, Gammon and Chicken breast. The portions...

We went to The Fox & Hounds as part of a walk from Danby. There's clearly lots of history in the pub and a few decent ales on tap. The food looked good but we just went for a beer! A decent pub overall.

Busy, bustling pub with great atmosphere and a quieter, very nice restaurant just off the side. Good menu, lots of specials, staff very attentive and nothing too much trouble. Would definitely go back.....we struggled to find anywhere nearly this attractive in the area.

Stayed at Fox and Hounds inn , had room on front looking out over the moor. The room was clean and very quiet. The bed was huge and comfortable. Breakfast was good . The inn was very popular, but a table was kept for residents every night . Food was excellent. Had a thoroughly good few days
