From the outset, an excellent stay and full details are below. I would happily recommend this hotel if you need to stay local.

We travelled on Friday 5th into Saturday 6th April 2024. We were a golf society consisting of 20 blokes. We only grabbed this hotel last minute as our original booking cancelled in Drogheda town centre.

We booked 13 rooms in the hotel. Regarding my twin room, it was clean and tidy, a good size with a small double and a single bed, a small but perfectly adequate bathroom with a shower and no bath. There was a tv with usual local channels and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Upon request an iron and ironing board (both full size) were left outside the door.

Dinner
We requested menus and forwarded a pre-order to keep things simply. Mains and deserts with complimentary tea and coffee after. Dinner was excellent, good quality food, good portions (lamb shank was clearly the best choice for info) and the bill including a gratuity was €600 (€30pp)

Breakfast
Usual setup with juices, pastries etc sitting out. Tea/Coffee was made fresh and a small sensible hot food menu was provided and cooked fresh. Again excellent meal and not a complaint to be had.

In summary we used this hotel as a last minute change and not one of our party had any complaint. We would happily book again if we are playing golf in the area.

From the moment we stepped into The Glenside we felt a sense of belonging. Having spent time here in the past as former colleagues, it was the complete no brainer, and perfect choice for our wedding reception. Every detail of our day was carefully planned and followed through with ease, making it feel like a true home away from home. Booking our wedding with The Glenside has taken the stress out of planning and has allowed me to enjoy our day without worry! As they literally take care of everything !!
The food was nothing short of amazing! Each dish tasted amazing, our guests are still complimenting us about the food, So thanks a million to the chefs 💙👨‍🍳we really appreciate it.
The setup was beautiful with every detail of our day on show! It was obvious that the staff worked very hard to create a beautiful atmosphere for our special day.
One of the biggest reliefs was how very smooth the planning process was. The amazing owners Aogan & Karen took the stress out of the planning, I was sent a list of suppliers, each an everyone of them were fantastic to deal with.
Big thank you to,

Southgate Florist 💐

Knowing we were in such capable hands with all these amazing suppliers allowed us to truly enjoy our day.

To the wonderful owners and the amazing team at The Glenside, thank you for making our wedding dreams come true. You have set the bar incredibly high, and we truly believe this is the best hotel and wedding venue in the north east!! We can't recommend you enough. Here's to many more beautiful celebrations at this beautiful place!

From start to finish without doubt the most wonderful experience. The Hotel is on the flat and our suite with four poster bed was simply gorgeous. The staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful and it's a handy location with short enough drives to historical sites and places of interest such as Mellifont Abbey, The Irish war museum and Monasterboice. We ate in Henrys restaurant both nights and had our breakfast in the bar. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and again the staff were so helpful.and accommodating.. look forward to planning a return visit for sure

Myself and Jessica had the best time of our lives. From the moment we stepped into The Glenside, the staff were amazing. We were so looked after on a 5* personal level. Karen and Aogán (owners) are the most nicest and genuine people you’ll ever meet. They made everything feel special and made sure they looked after every request we asked. All the hotel staff were amazing. The food was amazing, the hotel has just been renovated so the rooms & everywhere look outstanding. The Glenside will always have a special place in our hearts and we will always remember the time we had. I cannot fault anything at all with this hotel or our wedding, because they made everything go so smoothly. Even with the Storm Éowyn happening on our wedding day, they told us they will make it work and that they did! I cannot believe the effort the hotel had put into our day, even letting the staff stay the night before, so our wedding could go ahead! Thank you so much for everything. I highly recommend The Glenside!

My partner and I ventured out for only the third time for dinner since March due to Covid-19. Having decided on the Bistro in the Glenside Hotel, we were not disappointed. From the moment we got to the car park and through the hotel doors we felt so safe. When we got to our table there was a pre-printed hotel envelop and inside was our cutlery, napkin, salt and pepper ... incredible idea! The service and food were both excellent. We shared garlic mushrooms, I had the special which was chicken stuffed with black pudding on wholegrain mustard mash and it came with a side of vegetables. My partner had beef. Everything was superb and a lovely dining experience. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for one night. We were met by the very friendly Christine who checked us in very promptly. The reception area looked recently revamped & had a lovely, cozy, inviting feel to it.
Our room was spacious & very clean - but was in need of a revamp, was slightly dated. The lovely fresh decor of the reception didn’t carry through to our room, but we were happy enough.
We went off to a small shopping centre not far from hotel & also had a little walk around the garden centre just 200m down from hotel (Blacks) & came back to hotel.
We sat outside in the gazebo to enjoy a drink & few games of cards and also enjoyed the good weather. The hotel has a small garden area.
Michelle looked after us & she was very kind, friendly & efficient.
We had dinner inside later that evening, nice menu with plenty of options.
Starters: chicken wings, fried Brie. Kids menu was a nice selection too. Mains : fish & chips, sausages & chips, burger & chips. All very fresh & tasty 😋
Our room that night was very warm, so we didn’t sleep too well.
Breakfast set us right up - Continental Breakfast with good selection on menu of fresh fruit, pastries, pancakes, yogurts, juices, toast, tea & coffee.
Check out again was very smooth.
Overall a very nice stay.
A small hotel with really great staff. Well done 👏🏻

Hi ,my wife and I went out for a meal to the glenside hotel on 12/06/2022.We had an early bird voucher we bought on the 01/03/2020 at the beginning of covid. We told the waitress we Had the voucher but she said it was only worth €42 because the early bird we purchased wasn't available and costs had gone up etc. The cost of a two course meal would be €50.We were disappointed because we had purchased several vouchers but said nothing and excepted it.
Two days later I decided to ring the manager who is also the owner and see what he had to say about it,we thought he'd honour the voucher as it was for a two course meal.
He insulted me from the start of the conversation,he said the voucher was for a two course early bird menu that is not available,he said what did you expect to get Steak ,I told him that we have been good customer's to the hotel for over 40 years and I took offence to his tone of voice,he said we don't want the likes of you ringing up complaining and if you bring me up all your voucher's I'll give you your money back and you won't have to be a costomer.I was absolutely shocked at been spoken to this way,all I wanted was for him to explain why I purchased something that isn't available for the value I thought it was for. Hotel vouchers are valid for five years but if you purchased a voucher for a meal that is worth €50 five years later it's worth far less. This man has no manners and shouldn't be in a position to deal with the public but unfortunately because he's the owner he can do what he wants, all I can say is with that attitude he won't be in business too long

Lovely hotel, however not a lovely experience! Travelling as a female alone from the UK, on arrival there were some very drunk and rowdy women in the bar. The receptionist apologised for the noise coming from the bar and I went to my room.

I was worn up at 1.30am to some of the most disgusting language I have ever heard, clearly the same women having a drunken and aggressive row in the next room. I tolerated this for almost an hour before deciding enough was enough, I was starting to feel really unsafe. I dialled 0 for the 24hr reception almost continually for the next 45 minutes, NO ONE ever answered!! The screaming, shouting and swearing continued until just after 3am.

I did not feel safe in this hotel, I’m a regular traveller for business and have never, ever felt unsafe in a hotel before.

I seriously hope there is never a genuine emergency after hours in this hotel as the 24hr reception will not come to your help!

Dear Snoopy1977 I am sorry to read about your experience. I would really appreciate if you could contact me directly so that I can get further information about what happened on the evening of your stay. You can get me directly on karen@glensidehotel.ie. I can then investigate the matter fully. We have a 24 hour reception with a Night Manager on duty at night time. I can not understand how you could not contact a member of staff during the night. We have since tested the phoneline in the room you were staying and everything seems to be in order. Kind Regards Karen Dunne

Thank you so much 💓. The staff, food, ambience, atmosphere, care was exceptional. Our family have had a long history of events in the Glenside going back many years. We have had the best time at each and every occasion. Today was very special as we coaxed our elderly parents to partake in your lovely carvery. We eventually persuaded them and they were delighted with the experience. They were very happy with the food, service and friendlies of the staff. They were very comfortable and enjoyed the experience. We had to give praise because we have had a very tough year with our parents due to ill health. Today, in the Glenside has been a very good experience for them.
Thanks so so much 💗

The Glenside recently hosted my brother's 18th and it was a fantastic night. Elaine was excellent in facilitating a night of over 100 guests and making sure it went off without a hitch. Both herself and Karen were helpful in the weeks and months leading up to the event, always available to answer questions. The setup was top class and the service on the night, the cake was delicious and the dj got everyone up and dancing. The food supplied was plentiful and delicious, overall a memorable night.
