Tahsis is one of the most peaceful and beautiful untouched communities on the west coast of vacouver island. It's a neglected town post decline of the lumber industry where it has become virtually a ghost town...but the nature never changes. Many Americans have purchased homes for cheap for thier summer fishing excursions. My husband and I are not fishers but...

We stayed here last year before starting a ten day kayak trip and found it to be the perfect fit. There is tons of space to organize your gear and on our return Sylvie was such a good sport to have us dry everything out on the back lawn. The kitchen was great for preparing a quick breakfast. It is...

I stayed only one night, but was pleasantly greeted, had an entire well-furnished suite to myself. The bed was comfortable, extra blankets available, everything was clean, clean , CLEAN.I had a bit of food prep to do, and found all the utensils I need in the well-equipped kitchen. Best of all, you enter the suite near the back of the...

The drive to Tahsis is nuts, but when you arrive and see the pretty village, it is so worth it. I had to work, so really enjoyed the fact of where I was. Silvie's accomodation is outstanding, a great place to retreat to when your day is done. When travelling I appreciate the opportunity to take care of myself when...

Tahsis is a hidden town on Vancouver Island. It is an hour drive on gravel road from Gold River to reach the town, but the road is well maintained and the scenery is spectacular. Our experience at Nootka Gold B&B was very positive. We were a last minute booking and Silvie accomodated us, actually went out of her way to...

We recently spent 10 days on Vancouver Island, and had 2 nights booked at Nootka Gold B&B at the mid-way point in our vacation of fishing, camping, and kayaking. Most of Nootka Gold's B&B customers become repeats, and it's easy to see why. We had been told the road to Tahsis was a knucklebiter and left plenty of time for...

Just a heart felt thanks to all guests at Nootka Gold, and in particular those that have taken the time to provide their reviews. In every small way I find to promote my business, there is nothing like word of mouth from actual guests. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you back in Tahsis!

Tahsis is one of my secret vacation spots. The views driving from Gold River are absolutely breath taking, not to mention the cave exploration just outside Gold River. Many bears along the way. My wife wanted to pet one that was 10 feet from us :-( The off season is best. Quaint little village with friendly people. Area includes water...

“If you like cooking for yourself, or plan to fish and need a sink & countertop the lower suite has a full kitchen and patio with BBQ. Both suites have private entrances and there is plenty of off-road parking. We loved the quiet of the upper suite, and it had a small fridge & microwave, and a second bedroom with 2 single beds. Plenty of room to spread out!”
