Booked an Ocean view room through Expedia but they gave me a room on the ground floor where you couldn't see the ocean through the palm trees. I was also being bitten by mosquitoes in the room. I asked to move to an Ocean view room but they said they didn't have one - hard to believe for a 1 night stay on a Monday. Front desk came and sprayed the mossies and said if I had any more problems to buy bug spray at IGA. The room was clean but smelt musty. The tv was hard to watch as the internet kept cutting out. There was no dishwasher. Went for a beach walk, a lot of the beach however was closed due to asbestos findings. Car park underground was small and nearly full, the second Carpark was open air and a few streets away so I didn't go out in the car as I didn't want to lose my spot. This meant walking to dinner. There was Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese but nothing plain. …
We stayed one night. We have stayed here before just over a year ago. Since our last visit the room have been redecorated, new kitchen, new bathroom, new sliding doors to balcony. We assume all the rooms have had a similar makeover.. This has made a big difference and we could not fault anything.Golden beach is a short drive to Coloundra cbd . It is quite a long walk though. The rooms all face the water and are sunny in the morning. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.
Hubby and I stayed here for a mini break away, we were here 2 minutes and the reception staff were rude and treated us like dirt, we were asked if we wanted to do an hour long presentation. Which went for over 2 hours and because we said we didn't want to buy into their ridiculous time share scheme, we were treated poorly by the staff, I will never stay here ever again as the rooms are outdated, and staff need attitude adjustments. Overall I would never waste my money to stay here.
The rooms were a little dated but quite comfortable; the bed was very good and our sleep was very sound. Two criticisms include the drifting cigarette smoke from an apartment beside us and although we raised our concern with the management, the smoking continued. The ordour on entry to the room was reminiscent of grey water and was quite unpleasant.
From check in to checkout the stay was fantastic!! We were asked if we wanted a drink on arrival which was unexpected but very nice. Staff at checkin were friendly and very helpful. The room we had was very nice and comfortable and the main thing very clean :) we made use of the very nice pool area and the electric scooters which was also supplied free of charge because we were staying. We will 100% be back and have already started recommending this awesome little find to everybody we can
We stayed in a large comfortable Spa Unit, which surprisingly was located on the 2nd floor. Our ocean view was very limited and also the apartment was also located in the side street, again limiting views. Disappointing, given the extra cost outlay for a "premium" room. Whilst the room was very clean, it was disturbing to see mould growing under the soap holder in the spa/shower. Under cover parking is NOT guaranteed, but an open air "overflow" area is available nearby. U/c park was full at check-in, so this didn't help in this process. Staff were very friendly and helpful. On-site Thai Restaurant, the Copper Spoon was very good.
This is a great place on a quiet stretch of beach at Sunshine Coast. It is older hotel but was comfy and clean. Room had a great view and everything I needed. Cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Try the Copper Spoon Thai for dinner next door … fabulous food! I didn’t use the pool… it’s smaller and families seemed to enjoy it. There was quite a bit of noise coming from an outdoor area on resort in evening - I couldn’t see them … but sounded like a BBQ gathering or something. Parking was minimal and tight or you have to drive around to other side of block /resort to park and walk back thru property to hotel if you don’t get in early enough. Staff were exceptional and very professional at all times and love that they are attentive, helpful, upbeat, and smiling. They were very accommodating and found me a room to stay over during a busy weekend. However, I did decide to move to another holiday resort I found that was less expensive and a bit more modern .…
Had a smashing two days Ramada Golden Beach. Booked through hotels.com (because the other half was celebrating a birthday with her best pal) and decided to stay only one night as the cost was $188 for a water view and we were a tad worried. The room was so excellent that we decided to stay another night. Price was $206…. Aaaargh. Checked in by Anne (with an e) and she was tops. She also checked us out and didn’t even swear at me. In between that we had Stacey? Who managed to co-ordinate the two bookings I’d made through hotels.com. Complaint here as maybe the Ramada could get their bookings together as a similar thing happened last year when I booked the Ramada, Hervey Bay. Cancelled the initial four nights and made it five. Took another week to get that one sorted out as the first one hadn’t been cancelled and confusion was rife. The receptionists were as patient as… and not one of them even punched this Scotsman in the face. I decided that I fancied going on a bike and it happened that there was one available. It’s an ebike and the Ms concierge? charged out to help. I was only away for an hour or so and it was great; especially as the bikes, scooters, surf boards all seem to be free! and for this Scotsman that’s brammer. Point about this is the lovely lass who showed me how to ride an ebike recognised me the following morning and asked how I’d got on. That’s a major plus in my mind as they must see around 100 people each day so if they recognise you then that’s magic… mind you it could have been because I had a bag over my head to stop scaring the punters. Lifts were quite fast although, to be fair, the hotel wasn't really busy. People really are much more friendly when on holiday than when not and lifts were always held open if you were walking towards them. Decent restaurants within 100 metres' walk. We were at Pano Vina the first night which I'll review later... excellent; and The Copper Spoon Thai restaurant which is straight opposite reception. Another three or four restaurants within 150 metres so you can't go wrong there. The room was much better than expected (room 602). Smashing view over Pumicestone Passage and you can see over Bribie, left to Caloundra and down to the pool. The queen bed was perfectly fine and is in a nicely designed unit. The queen bed is in a sliding doored off area which works well. The ensuite is clean and airy and has a spa bath which was an unexpected pleasure as I don’t think it was advertised. We didn’t use it as the pool was enticing. The pool is deep and well designed for us oldies (where we can get out without being embarrassed) with a slide and hot spa. Hardly anyone was round the pool but I imagine it could be a bit hairy if there were heaps of people and not a lot of places to lie. Last day we discussed whether we would come back. In an instant! as we thought the whole vibe was smashing. We’re going to recommend it to our pals (all two of them) and children as if you have things like kayaks, bikes, knee bandages, etc. then the Ramada on Golden Beach is brilliant. Thanks…
Overall we had a lovely time, the staff were wonderful and the Resort facilities were great, location was amazing but definitely could be improvements with the apartment. We booked a two bedroom ocean-view apartment, the views were expansive however the apartment does not cater for four people. There was only a two person sofa in the living room and a tiny dining room table with only three chairs. The kitchen also did not have a dishwasher and there is no laundry facilities in the apartment, rather a communal laundry on each level. The apartment also did not lock from the inside (it had an internal door stop/latch however it was at a height my four year old could reach and maneuver and open the door with relative ease) With the second bedroom being on the other side of the apartment, nearest to the front door, this was a big concern to us. When I raised it with staff they said they would mention it to maintenance to see if anything could be done but we didn’t hear back and had to put something heavy against the door of a night to avoid any risk of escapism!…
Booked a two bedroom unit and was pleasantly surprised that it had a spa bath as well as a separate bathroom. Unit was spacious enough and had all the usual amenities. Beds were comfortable and the ocean views were expansive. Swimming pool with water slide for kids and heated outdoor spa were great. The resort was well maintained and the service provided by staff was prompt, helpful and cheerful.
