Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was the first time I stayed here but I would defiantly stay again. From the second you drive in the gate you see a beautifully kept house and grounds. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady and directed to our room. The house was new looking but had a lovely old feel to it. The rooms were well looked after and clean and the view of the back yard was great. I would recommend this b&b to anyone.

One of the best B&Bs that have experienced.
Friendly with everything just right.
Pros
Friendly welcome, nice room, good breakfast, easy parking.
Cons
Although it has a big sign we missed it. Its just a hundred yards off the main road to Wexford a hundred yards or so past a big filling station coming from Rosslare.

Stayed in Moyglare Lodge and I did not want to leave. Absolutely fabulous is the only way to describe it. I loved everything about it. The house and gardens were superb and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Moyglare Lodge is a must for everyone. Very accessible and somewhere I will definitely be going back to and I suggest everyone take a trip there to see for themselves.

I had contacted Moyglare Lodge over one week prior to our going to stay there and was assured that we would be taken good care of as we were staying for four nights. The Manager told me that we would be given a very good room. After travelling all day on 11 July (a journey of over 300 hundred miles), We arrived at Moyglare Lodge, Killinick and on first impression the house and gardens looked fabulous. However, we were shown to our Room (Number 6) and we couldn't believe our eyes. The room hadn't been aired for a very long time and we were stifled with dust and what appeared to be mildew! My first indication of this was the mirror in the bedroom, I put my hand on it and pulled a huge dust swirl right through the mirror surface!! The canopy over the double bed too was full of dust! This canopy covered the bed so you can imagine how much dust was falling onto there! The headboard too, was dusty! A further inspection showed that the picture frames were completely covered in layers of thick grey dust! This beggars belief! The bathroom towels were unbelievable - thin and hard - these had not even been ironed or tumble dried in any attempt to fluff them - they had been wrung out and dried that way! These were so hard that they would have rubbed skin off in the process of using them! I could not believe the response given when I pointed this out to the Manager present at the time. We told the Manager that we would not be staying and that we were very disappointed and had to go to Waterford that evening to find somewhere else to stay!! Thankfully in a very clean, comfortable and welcoming B & B!!

I would definitely not recommend this B & B to anyone else!

This is a beautiful house in an ideal position of anyone travelling into or from Rosslaire on the ferry.
The rooms are beautifully furnished and equiped, our room over looked a beautiful rear garden, which guests are welcome to walk around.
The owners are delightful people who made us most welcome, and were very helpful, and provided a delicious breakfast with excellent choice.
We stayed here on our way into Ireland and again on our return journey.
We will definately be returning on our next visit to Ireland.

Having just arrived off the ferry this was our introduction to Ireland. We were met with a grumpy owner who was apparently not expecting us despite a telephone booking and email confirmation. We were allocated room 9 clearly reserved for unwelcome guests complete with no internet availability, a broken TV and a very uncomfortable bed. However the room was clean and shower effective. We continued to feel an inconvenience at breakfast and had to ask for milk and butter for tea and toast. Cards enjoy a 2.5% supplement and no receipt offered for cash. Adequate accommodation but not the expected Irish hospitality. We will certainly not be returning.

We booked two rooms in Moyglare for the last night of a holiday in Ireland as we had to catch the ferry from Rosslare in the early morning. It is just off the main road but with the lovely gardens the Lodge was peaceful and quiet. The bedrooms are spacious, spotless and the beds have lovely top quality sheets and pillowcases - I slept like a log. A very warm welcome made us feel totally at home. Can't comment on breakfast as we wanted to get away early for the ferry and it is served from 8am. For dinner, we went to a pub called Ye Olde Coopers Inn which was about 2 minutes walk away (see separate review). I would happily have stayed longer at Moyglare and look forward to staying there again.

We only spent 1 night at Moyglare but I wished we had a spent longer. The welcome, the bedrooms and the breakfast were all excellent.
I would definitely recommend Moyglare for anyone looking for somewhere to stay around Wexford or Rosslare.
We’ll be back soon, hopefully.

This is the worst accommodation I have stayed in whilst in Ireland and anywhere else. The bed was terrible, and I was not able to sleep at all. The dust in the room and/or bedding resulted in asthma. In the bathroom there was a half empty tube of shampoo next to the sink with a hair of the previous occupant stuck to it. The bathroom door did not close without a push against the door from outside. The tv in the room was tiny and the picture was not good.

The bed felt like it had been picked up at a junk shop. To offer accommodation and not think to spend at least a little money on a reasonable bed is unacceptable hence this review.

You will be charged a surcharge if you do not pay in cash.

My day following a stay here was hard going due to lack of sleep. Thanks for nothing!

Response from olive w, Manager at Moyglare Lodge Country House
Responded 9 Oct 2012
It was unfortunate that these guests did not make themselves known to us. Regarding the T.V. ..reception is good in all our bedrooms, if they were unhappy with the size of the screen, why did they not sit in our Residents Lounge with the large screen? Regarding our bedding, some of our rooms have memory foam mattresses which take on your body shape and if this was the case, the mattress is not to everyone's liking, however we cannot be sure if this was the case as they did not make themselves known. Regarding a " surcharge if you do not pay cash " we feel is a very unreasonable comment. We leave a notice in our bedrooms making our guests aware of the interest charges that the credit card companies charge, in fact, we very often do not pass that charge on. We are here to please our guests, not upset them and if someone has a complaint to make, they really should make it known to us so that we can address it. It is most unfair to leave a property as if you have been happy with your stay, say absolutely nothing regarding your discomfort and then submit an unfair review.
