went during half term in October- good facilities for families. swimming pools were not heated so cold in October but they had a indoor pool which was child friendly. restaurants were basic but the service was good.

The accommodation and staff including the gardeners are friendly non intrusive and helpful. It's such a shame that the restaurant (El Med) and the chill bar are so poorly managed, the bar staff and waiters are about as switched on as a dud bulb and sooooooo slow, we watched a tab

Really like this resort. The architecture and lay out is really good with spacious 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The accomadation has a typical Spanish feel with well appointed interiors and large balconies. Amenities are good with 2 outdoor and 2 indoor pools, 2 restaurants/bars

In the past 3 years, we have spent 2 x 1 week at the Marriott Vacation Club in Playa Andaluza, and just wrapped-up spending 1 week at the Marriott Vacation Club in Marbella. As a result, we have a clear preference for the former.

The Marbella resort simply is much older, built

Everyone else seems adamant we need a car. How did you walk to supermarkets. We have been told it is steep to the road. We are used to using local buses. I queried in Marbella today (we only go to Marriott Saturday) it s 17£ or 20 at night and weekends. My husband loves walking I am not so good. Thanks
I’m assuming you are already there so can’t rent a car at airport. Also not clear how long you are staying and not clear if you are looking for best option or cheapest. If you have restricted walking ability then you have two choices: taxi or bus. Taxi are inexpensive to local shops and short journeys to supermarket etc (try new Uber?). To Marbella or Puerto Banus I would suggest a bus which is about a 12 min walk from hotel to bus stop. Very inexpensive option but also avoids parking in Marbella which is an nightmare and expensive. Also if you speak Spanish and are staying for say 2 weeks you can get a direct phone number from most of the local taxies and do a deal with them to collect you when you call locally. The system only allows taxies licensed in Elveria to pick up in the Elveria area (ie: Marriott included) so often they are sitting in the rank for ages and happy to go direct.

I will be arriving late in evening with baby and toddler, just wanted to know if the kitchen will be equiped with any groceries on arrival? I understand it's not free and there is a super market but just for convenience with 2 kids, they need milk and i wanted to know if there will be any already in kitchen or will we need to first visit the supermarket ( not ideal at late evening check in) also if anybody can please kindly recommend any halal asian restaurants/ takeout nearby please?
Resort does not stock any grocery in the unit, there is is a small mall close to the A7 exit to Marriott Marbella Resort. there is supermarket in the mall and two Indian restaurants, Mr India and Masala, both serve halal and excellent food. Resort has a market too that can be used for urgent needs, but the prices are little higher than the super market. Enjoy the trip.

We'll be there next September and would like to rent a car. I am wondering about driving though since we speak no Spanish. Are the road signs also in English or understandable to non-Spanish speakers? How hard will it be for us to navigate to Ronda, for instance? Thanks!
I have to tell you that driving around is NOT easy, they have a lot of round abouts with no street signs - unless it is a straight shot, it is so confusing, we actually drove around in circles and gave up and drove back to the hotel - take a taxi - a lot less stressful!!

Does the Hotel offer trips to Ronda? If not, what’s the best way of seeing the town?
I think the resort can arrange a tour with a touring company. It is a beautiful town. I elected to drive because the tour seemed too short. Next time I would consider an overnight stay because driving back down was challenging at dusk. (I would not want to do it at night.) It is a winding uphill drive - one lane in each direction. Reminds me of driving along California coast. On the way up you are next to the hill and on the way down you are next to the cliff as drivers, familiar with the road, are often "pushing" you to drive faster. (You must learn to ignore them or use the turn-outs to allow them to pass.) Note: beautiful views but you are driving!
