Found the deluxe room very basic the bar and restaurant were outstanding but beware of the charge for parking we have just received a parking ticket even though we paid at reception to park our car because the reception staff did not take our registration number at the time.
Had an overnight stay in January 2023. Was a last minute booking on telephone with hotel so expected to pay premium price. Thought £140 without breakfast was pricey for what you got. Room was clean and well set out but nothing special. I paid attention to the parking charges notice in the guests carpark which clearly stated that hotel guests could park for free upon registration at reception. Reception charged £5 per night and made no allowance for notice to the contrary in car park. I couldn't find details of room service menu in room. Called reception who said details could be found on TV. Unable to locate on TV so room service menu delivered to room. Menu stated in small print that 10% cover charge would be added. When bill came the charge was £4.50 for a £13.50 sandwich. I was told it was a tray charge with no explanation why only 10% cover charge on menu. These charges are small but irritating when they are incorrectly referenced in menu's and car park signs.…
There was a long queue for breakfast. I had informed the receptionist upon check in the day before I was vegan. Nothing was arranged me. No fruit was left on the platters and very little baked beans left. So limited options for me. Thankfully I had bought my own oat milk so had this in my coffee. I spent more time standing in the breakfast area than sitting down with my partner eating breakfast. This was me and my fiancés first ever get away and stay away. I sent feedback to the hotel the day after and it’s been a week and still no one has got back to me with an apology or refund. I paid £17 pp for breakfast. The pool area is not adults only. We used it when many kids were there. Why are children in the jacuzzi area? Why is there no one managing this. No one informed us that Lane swimming had to be booked before hand. …
I had my work Christmas party in here. Fabulous event. I t was organised very well. Good entertainment especially DJ. The 3 course dinner was lovely, especially the dessert. The timing could have been better waiting for the starter to arrive but rather than that it was splendid. The room was big enough and had a fabulous views, bed was very comfy. Hotel has brilliant facilities overall, they gave everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended!
Paris and the team were absolutely amazing on our wedding day, as well as the evening before when we arrived to set up. They were attentive, consistent, friendly and made the day go without a glitch. They are an asset to Cadbury! We had the best wedding day and cannot thank them enough for making it so special
Second visit on New Years Eve to this lovely location, the Christmas decorations and decor is outstanding. Very well laid out tables and helpful Staff. The food was again excellent in quality and content. The live band Freeze were unbelievable in musical range and the ability to get the people dancing and singing. However. The Disc Jockey (?) was utterly hopeless. Something was amiss in the sound system and a muffled noise of lots of slow obscure music led up to midnight countdown. Well after midnight a weird version of Auld lang syne was then played which everyone ignored and sang the traditional one. This guy was definitely ‘off message’ or in the wrong job. Thank the Lord the live band returned and festivities commenced. An enjoyable evening with great food, hard working Staff and generally good value, pity about the DJ.…
Very unhappy about the parking charge notice I received. I stayed for three nights and paid for parking so was very surprised to receive £100 PCN the following week. I even checked with the check-in receptionist that I had done it correctly. Contacted the hotel who told me to e-mail them.... no response. I phoned again and was told I'd have to sort it out myself. Not a good way to treat a regular customer who has just spent over £500 at the hotel. Aside from the parking issue, the hotel is OK but it's pretty unlikely I'll be staying again.
Our Xmas party last Friday 9th was the best one we have ever had, and we’ve had a few over many years at the practice. Your always a bit wary when it’s the first time you’ve booked a venue for such an important night for the team. But my goodness did we have a great time. The hotel was beautiful, and the party room lay out was perfect. Our food was hot and delicious with brilliant waiting staff that ran around seamlessly making sure every table had all their food at the same time. Hats off to the DJ that got everyone singing and dancing before we’d even finished our meal and the band were fantastic. Some of us stayed over night and enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the morning. Thanks to all the staff for a memorable evening.
We didn't stay in the hotel, some of our party did so no review on that. Bar prices were exorbitant, 2 bottles of peroni and a whisky and ginger beer, because they had no ginger ale, was £19.50. We were there for a Christmas dinner cost was in excess of 30 per head. Starter I had salmon mouse which was ok, but some people had 2 pieces of commercial toast and some had none. Mains I had mushroom Wellington which beared no resemblance. I would say mushroom and carrot pie, which was awful. Vegetable were sparce and mediocre. Desert was christmas pud and a drizzle of custard. The pud was a poor quality microwaved effort which I didn't finish. In all the meal was poor. The music was too loud so you couldn't talk during the meal. The band after was good though. For a posh hotel they truly let themselves down.…
stayed in the same room I had stayed in a number of years before & the bathroom sink was still cracked, the food at the bar (Fish & Chips) was too expensive @ £19;50 & was not great quality. i have had better @ a seafront chippy
