After a long journey from Georgetown we were greeted with such warmth as we started our jungle adventure with Operation Wallacea. The accommodation is pleasant and clean and the girls' big dormitory had doors each end to make life easy. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff fixed any issues very quickly. Food was delicious and plentiful ... we...

The Iwokrama River Lodge is set in a beautiful clearing on the banks of the Essequibo river. The set-up is pretty straightforward with a two-storey central building housing a shop, toilets and administration rooms on the ground floor and a bar and restaurant on the upper floor. The upper floor is nicely laid out with great views over the grounds...

Several of the lodges overlook the river. They have private balconies with hammocks. The rooms are large and clean, and the fans a great relief from the heat. The staff are friendly, the food good. We did a couple of excursions, to Turtle mountain, which was a hard slog in the heat for a nice view of the canopy. And...

The long drive from Georgetown is so worth it! The staff were hugely welcoming as our group poured off the buses and soaked up the fabulous views. Accommodation is clean and pleasant and the food delicious, plentiful and varied each time. Great to have drinks available all the time. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff who are clearly...

From the moment we were greeted at the airport, I knew I was going to like this place. We were offered fresh cold juice and escorted to our cottage with lots of smiles. We were starving and they put together the most amazing sandwiches for us to hold us off until dinner. We met Alex, who would be our guide...

This is a wonderful place to start your Guyanese nature adventure. They have it all here. The cabins tho a bit rustic are perfectly equipped with comfortable beds, decent bathroom and a fan. The porch is really well set up with hammocks, a desk to put your stuff on and great views of the river. The food is splendid. Considering...

We stayed two nights here in the hopes of seeing some wildlife. The staff in Georgetown took care of all the logistics and arranged a 4 wheel drive roundtrip, which has very comfortable cabins that are laid out along the shore of the Essequibo River, affording spectacular views at sunrise and sunset. Capybara and agouti come all over the grounds,...
