Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent four nights here and absolutely loved it. Megan and Nemer were so helpful and accommodating with everything we needed. We loved their dogs, the fresh fruit and the howler monkeys. The entire staff was very nice. We enjoyed having breakfast in the kitchen and planning out our days. The cabins were very well maintained and so much fun to sleep in. The views of the volcano were amazing! We will definitely be back!!!

I came to stay on the property for 3 days and ended up staying for over a week. The place is absolutely beautiful and the stuff is awesome. Delusions breakfast every morning, incredible sunset views and right next to volcano hiking trail.

We had an amazing stay at La Bambouseraie last week. We took three cabins, all built on the middle of the volcano forest. Cabins were comfortable, well designed and inspiring. The service and management was great and super responsive. Recommended!

I'm a well seasoned 70 year old traveler from the united States and am always seeking unique experiences. I stayed in a screened stand alone cabin raised about 13 meters above the ground that was accessible with my compact rental car and had a gorgeous view of Valcon Conception. The owners got me a local guide who took me hiking from their Permafarm about a third of the way up Volcan Maderas summit trail and then bushwacked to see some exquisite newly discovered pre-Colombian petroglyphs with great definition carved into free standing rocks. This along with good accomodation, breakfast and interesting discussion added up to a good time at La a great time at La Bambouseraie.

I've travelled extensively throughout Nicaragua and this place is most certainly one of my favorites! Lush forest, genuine hospitality, and beautiful rooms. The small details they provide really made the trip special. I recommend bringing your own transportation and a book or two to enjoy on the porch of your room.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your comments! We're glad you enjoyed the peace and space. Transport is certainly useful on the island as the best spots are spread all over the two volcanoes. For those who don't have their own transport we can gladly recommend and organise rentals and drivers with trusted, local service providers.

All of the essential comforts, while maintaining a rustic jungle vibe! Warm showers, comfy beds, great views, great staff, and great breakfast! All tucked away in one of Nicaragua's most diverse Permaculture farms (there is fruit and wildlife everywhere!). It's amazing to relax in a food forest that is the ongoing result of over 20 years of vision, design, and care. I stayed in a cabin called la Pitanga, and while it is a bit of a walk to the kitchen(good privacy), it provided an incredible view of the volcanoes and the lake.

Thanks for your comments! We're so glad you enjoyed the farm and the space we have crafted. For those wanting a shorter walk to the kitchen check out Casa Chilamate, Homestead House or Jungle House. All maintain their privacy.

These accommodations were built with love! There’s nothing quite like falling asleep to the jungle breeze in these screened in tree house like cabinas. Simple yet comfortable, we keep coming back here for R & R. Thanks for the amazing stay again!!!

La bambouseraie is situated beautiful in the jungle. We did it with our own transportation and that was fine because if you want to travel the island you will need transportation. Close to the lodge are a lot of really beautiful places where you can eat real honest food. You can even order and they will bring it to the lodge. Amazing. The lodge is beautiful too, with the howler monkeys in the back. We loved it. The only thing we thought was weird. Is that we didn’t felt welcome. The person that runs the lodge is cold to put it nicely. So we didn’t cook ourselves in the kitchen and went out a lot!

We've just finished our stay and couldn't say anything better about the staff and our stay at La Bambouseraie. The cabins are beautiful inside and the breeze is fantastic through the night. Megan helped arrange an ATV and it was ready as we hit the ferry docks. Quickly we were taken to a nearby gas station where our ATV was waiting so we could make our way on our own with our backpacks tied down! After arriving the staff were helpful and showed us around both our cabin which had a volcano view and the property. They also set up a guide for us to hike Maderas the next day who was awesome! Bonus was that one of the dogs from the property made the trip with us. He took us to the lake at the top as it was cloudy so the view point would have been about the same as the lower ones. Went for a quick swim in that lake and it sure was chilly! We rented a scooter our last day as well and went to the waterfall in San Ramon. Not for the faint of heart with two people on a scooter. We've been extremely happy as Megan accommodated everything and all the questions we had. If you like dogs it's a bonus as there are 3 that hang out, one being a puppy at the time of our stay.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad you enjoyed your action-packed stay. The pups enjoyed your company too. *For future guests- we would recommend a quad for the waterfall as the last 15 minute stretch between Merida and San Ramon is quite rocky. It's the safest transport method on volcano tracks! Scooters are best on the paved roads.* Thanks again you two. Hope to see you again soon!
