Excellent Restaurant with rooms. Food excellent and service friendly and attentive. Clean rooms and very tidy, close to the lovely beach which is a bonus for walking both adults and a dog ! Would return to the gallivant without a shadow of a doubt.

We absolutely loved our stay at this fantastic hotel. Our room was beautiful, with a bottle of Chapel Down fizz waiting for us on arrival - a wonderful touch! The food is delicious; I've never seen such a fantastic breakfast spread, and the supper and lunch menus are excellent too, showcasing local ingredients. I had a spa treatment as well,...

The service was amazing and food was even better. We were greeted by Katie who was so friendly and helpful, she showed us to our Doggy friendly table and looked after us. The waiter and waitress looking after us Kasha and Mate, looked after us so well, even brought water for the dog and made sure we were all okay....

Really convenient for the beach. Just cross the road and walk over the dune. Those who want it even easier, perhaps with mobility problems, a short drive to the beach parking allows for flat access to the beach. The hotel is nice, the staff lovely and my visit enjoyable. Food was fabulous and the wine list interesting. As a lone...

Second time for us at The Gallivant. Informal reception area, and we were welcomed with a choice of tea or a sloe gin spritzer! No choice there then. This time we had booked a deck room, french doors opening into a small private decked area, which when the sun is out you can sit and enjoy a drink. Dinner was...

The absolute best thing about the Gallivant is its location – literally a pebble’s throw from the sands of Camber and the dunes. The tagline for the Gallivant is Eat, Sleep, Beach – for me, this should be reversed so Beach is first! The hotel is very easy to find and very easy to get to, we had no problem...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for one night as a birthday getaway. Every aspect of our stay here was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean; the staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, and happy to do anything they could to help; the dinner was superb and a fabulous menu to choose...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to our coastal restaurant with rooms, across the road from the dunes of Camber Sands and beautiful sandy beach beyond. Inspired by the coastal motels you might find in California, we're a calm and relaxing hideaway from the stresses and strains of modern life. We have 20 amazing bedrooms all decorated with an eye to the Hamptons and serve great food using almost exclusively locally sourced fresh ingredients. In 2016 we were included in The Times 'Coolest Beach Hotels - No. 4', The Mirror's 'Top 10 Seaside Hotels in the UK' and Squaremeal's 'UK's Best 100 Restaurants'. The private coastal garden incorporates mini secluded decks behind all the Garden and Luxury Garden rooms and is also home to The Beach Hut, where guests can enjoy relaxing massages and lovely facials after a day on the beach using ethical and natural health and beauty products that are exclusively blended in the UK. ... more   less
