We fancied a few days away in Suffolk and having looked on Booking.com for accommodation that was dog friendly, I found the Satis House Hotel. It looked excellent so I called the hotel direct and secured an excellent dinner, bed and breakfast deal. Before we arrived at the hotel I was a little concerned about the proximity to the A12 but this turned out to be a non-issue. Our room was quiet and very comfortable. We were staying in the Walberswick room which is located in the grounds at the side of the hotel (see picture). It is a comfortable and spacious twin room and ideal if you have a dog as you have easy access to the garden from your “front door”. There were good tea and coffee making facilities as well as a small fridge with drinks. The coffee is provided using coffee-bags which are excellent. We were given a breakfast menu on arrival and could submit our choices the night before. It was a superb spread with ample toast, hot drinks, porridge and a full cooked breakfast - perfect ahead of a day out walking on the Suffolk Coast. Dinner was a three-course option. On the first night I had the sole and the second night I opted for the curry. Both were delicious - as was the lemon meringue pie. There were also vegetarian and vegan options. All in all, an excellent stay, friendly host and very good value. Thank you!…
Stayed in a lovely large room with our dog on a short get away break. Lovely peaceful environment. Beautiful grounds outside. Spacious room and great modern bathroom where I could have a good soak in the tub. Everything we could need was provided for in the room. Breakfast had a good selection and really enjoyed their fry up. Service at dinner was friendly and efficient. Staff in general were polite, friendly and very helpful with any questions we had. Would recommend.
We stayed in the “Delux” Aldeburgh Room. I could list all the things that made this hotel A place I couldn’t wait to leave but suspect it would be water off a ducks back to Cara, the owner. It could be that our visit wasn’t typical but judging by the atmosphere And some of the pictures and reviews online, I think not. We paid £185 for one night B&B thinking it looked and sounded luxurious & comfortable. All I can say is that in our experience, the Satis is over selling itself big time on every level. Given the quality of the room, the lack of warmth or service and the general state of repair and cleanliness at this hotel we were very dissatisfied and felt that if we’d been paying £100 less we’d still have thought it a little over priced. Satis House Hotel. Over priced and under delivered. Our advise. Don’t believe the hype and if you have another option..... take it…
My wife and I stayed this weekend as part of her birthday celebrations. Every aspect of our stay was great and they were more than accommodating for our dietary requirements. We also enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant with great cocktails and food. Totally recommend this hotel.
good room excellent bed, super staff and excellent food . Very pleased with our choice and would come again. beautiful grounds. Top tip if you are using a sat nav: as you come into Yoxford going north on the A12, you will reach a roundabout; go straight over ( ours said turn left - towards the high street - and kept taking us in a circle) and you will see, round the next bend the back of a large white sign on your left. its approx 300 yards on . Immediately past that is the entrance on your left. Enjoy :-)
