If we had visited at a time when occupancy was significant it would have been miserable due to the facilities, the people very nice. Everything they advertise they do have (thermal waters, pool..etc) and we enjoyed it during a covid vacation, aka it was almost empty. With normal occupancy the amenities would have been heavily insufficient. Though, that was not the problem, the apparent lack of updates since the hotel rooms were built are not the problem either. The lack of mosquitoes nets in the windows and doors of the rooms ARE a problem. My daughter woke up with over 35 bites and we did not leave any windows or doors open, but given the lack of protection going in/out of the room is an invitation for the mosquitoes all by itself. We were not warned in advanced or provided with any ambient mosquitoes repletos either. The parking space is also under par, even in covid times with low occupancy we couldn’t park close to the room. That has to say it all. Not happy, could be worse? It can always be worse. The room had no view to anything, but ohh well. That is probably our fault if we had known we would have paid a bit more.…
Staff very welcoming and hospitable and convenient to excursions, great time so far !!! Lovely fun time reasonable prices and clean rooms food was great .Everyone spoke English and accommodating to your needs and questions
This property needs a lot of help. The staff is outstanding, but every facet of this hotel is in dire need of help. Here is my list: ROOMS: I booked two rooms and they were both terrible. My room had gaps so big in the walls that bugs were coming in. The room had a hole in he wall that looked to be made by a drill and it was lightly filled in with toilet paper. Almost like a peeping Tom hole. There was no reliable hot water in the shower, so I had to take very cold showers. The walls are very thin, so you have to turn the AC or fan on to shield people walking by outside. Forget about privacy. The room reminded me of a summer camp for kids. The other rooms (upgraded, in a building that contains 6-8 other rooms) was a bit better, but the beds in all rooms were uncomfortable and the rooms were definitely in the 1 start range. RESTAURANT: Since breakfast is included, I will start there. Central America is know for its fantastic breakfasts... this was just OK. It was VERY HARD to get service the first day. They were obviously not enough people working and it took about 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee. The food was buffet style served by workers, so food was quick, but not very good. Second day service was better. We also had desert one night and frankly I get better tres leches at my neighborhood Kroger for 1/10 of the price. AMENITIES: People recommend this hotel because of the pools of hot springs. The SPA offers a Jacuzzi, but its just a regular Jacuzzi. The 3 pools of hot springs were completely full and the water was tepid at best once I was able to get in there. Other stuff: The towels that you check out at the spa are about as good as the towels people use to dry their cars at the car wash. I will add photos after I submit, as they are crashing the browser...…
Big spacious Room, Great Place right at the Front of Arenal Volcano. The Hotel offer as well a nice Jungle Trail ideal for little morning/evening Jogging ! Staff were friendly. The only down side of this hotel, is that the Wifi is not working in the Room and you have to use the wifi from their Wifi room where you will enjoy the mosquitos bites in the evening... Aside this, definitely a place to stay if you want to be near the Volcano.
Worst hot springs ever. So much for nature the water is warm not hot and it smells like chlorine. So much nature! Worst experience!!!!! The place has poor lighting and it isn’t covid friendly. Your personal things must be left on the floor they don’t even have benches.
