Outstanding 3 nights in this lovely Inn. Every one of the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and so cheerful and fun. The bar staff, servers, chefs and ladies caring for our room were the best. We especially enjoyed interacting with the locals at the pub. Montacute House is within walking distance and a lovely church, St. Catherine's,...

Just an overnight on a family related journey from Kent to Lizkarde in Cornwall. We'd booked at fairly short notice & thought we'd arrive in the middle of the evening after a longish journey from Kent via Hove! There's no straight route from Hove linking the A303 so the cross country route was slow, but rather pleasant until we linked...

Maybe we came at the wrong time as our food and service wasn't as good as you could provide ... but it wasn't that busy so I'm not sure why things weren't great. So some advice for the staff and owners. If you want my business again then get the basics right. Don't make us wait a long time for...

Hello, thankyou for taking time to leave a review after your visit to us, I would like to say I do not respond with defensive comments only fair comment to what is quite often a very one sided review, and could quite easily be dealt with at the time rather than leaving unsatisfied as you so obviously did, we take...

We were a group of 20, attending my brothers 50th birthday party, and we wanted to be in one location. I made the booking before Christmas, and everyone I spoke with at The Kings Arms were very friendly and helpful. We pre-booked dinner for the Friday night, and one of our party, being a vegetarian, spoke directly with the chef,...

For my 50th birthday weekend, I had left the organisation of accommodation to my sister, and the King's Arms in Montacute was her choice. Well, I am really happy with her exceptional choice. I know the South Somerset area very well - I had lived there for nearly 20 years, and I knew what a nice little village Montacute is....

We recently returned from a two night stay here. We know Montacute well have lived in this part of Somerset for 10 years before returning to our home county of Essex. For my husbands 50th birthday this inn was ideal for gathering many family and friends together as it had enough rooms and was situated in the heart of Montacute...

We stayed for two nights on a recent business trip to the area. Montacute village is delightful, nestled in the hills and littered with old stone buildings, the remains of an abbey and the magnificent National Trust property. The Kings Arms itself looks every inch the epitome of an old English inn. It is quaint, but decorated in a traditional-meets-modern...

We have been a few times to this establishment and on each occasion have had a very pleasant experience. The landlord and his wife and staff are very courteous and friendly and the service is most efficient. The choice of drinks available is extensive and the two dining rooms are tastefully decorated with quality napery and comfortable upholstered chairs. The...

Friendly and efficient service and excellent food. The ham egg and chips was perfectly cooked and a generous portion. The chilli beef was equally good but a small portion, about half the size of an average noodle dish in a bowl that looked deeper than it was. The lamb was equally good and the battered fish was perfectly cooked, served...
